The sound of waves from afar has resonated in Atsumu's ears as the sunlight hit his closed eyes. At first, he was weirded out by the sounds but realized he is on his vacation leave today after winning the game last week.
He never felt so relaxed after several weeks and now, waking up in this kind of place could make him forget his problems easily.
He sat up after opening his eyes and smiled at the view in front of him, white translucent curtains as the ocean breeze slips inside the wooden windows.
Empty buildings on sight, fewer people talking, and just silence surrounding him. Just the perfect vacation for him.
It was like he was back in his hometown at Hyogo, but more serene and silent. It was just so peaceful he wanted to live there if he could.
But he needed to go back to the city days after where chaos comes back.
Well, at least there is a place he could call home within the chaos who lies silently beside him now.
A smile found its way oh his lips as he brushed those black curls away, revealing his home's two moles on the forehead that he found rather adorable after years of being together.
He played with the man's hair strands, a habit he started to have over the years that irritated his lover. But deep down inside, he knew the man loved it since it's his way of showing affection.
It's been five years since he met Sakusa Kiyoomi at their common friends' weddings, four years since they started dating officially, and two years of marriage.
Two, blissful years of being married to Sakusa and it's still unthinkable for him to finally have someone to spend a lifetime with.
He never saw himself getting married when he was younger. Sure, he had moments with his past lovers where he thought they were "the one" but it wasn't up to the point of committing and falling hard like what he had with Sakusa.
Sakusa just felt different from his past lovers. The moment he met Sakusa at Bokuto and Akaashi's wedding, he knew there was something enticing from the male.
When Sakusa used the soulmate card, naturally, he felt disappointed. But it wasn't that disappointing because there was something telling him that they'll see each other soon enough.
And he didn't let his chance go away the second time he saw Sakusa. It was purely coincidental and for him who believes in fate, he knows it as a sign from the universe.
He was thankful for his courageous and risk-taking attitude because it led him to great ends such as being Sakusa as his boyfriend and now, his husband.
But their relationship wasn't all heaven and cloud nines. They got tons of problems between them from their indifference up to their personalities.
It was clear for both of them that they are opposites. Where he enjoys time outdoors, Sakusa prefers indoors. Where he likes his coffee sweet, Sakusa loves it bitter. He loves action and romance movies, Sakusa loves mystery and criminal shows. He listens to pop and rock songs, Sakusa enjoys classical and R&B instead.
Within the span of being together, they learned to love each other's favorites and flaws. He came to love indoors with Sakusa while Sakusa started loving his choice of movies. He loved how Sakusa hates unhygienic places while Sakusa learned to love his loudness and only his loudness.
