Hope you enjoy :) a few new characters in this chapter.

I sat in silence trying to avoid the question. She stayed staring at me as I slowly poured the cereal into the bowl hand shaking.

"I asked you a question y/n" my mother said hands on hips I slowly raised my head to meet her gaze.

"I bought the jumper the other day" I said calmly, steadying my voice "and the sand is everywhere from when I went to the beach with Amelia" Amelia is my best friend she is always there for me and I knew if my mum asked she would cover for me.
"You went to the beach with Amelia?"
"Yeah .... and don't worry it was before you grounded me for no reason"
She gave me a disapproving look annoyed at the way I was speaking to her. But I didn't care it's not fair that she just grounds me for no reason at all when dad gets back he will make things more fair. My mum was obviously thinking about him too.

"When your father gets back from his business trip he will set you straight!"
I raised my eyebrow,
"No, dad will understand" I said confidently "I know he will"
She sighed and look at my sister, my perfect little sister sitting there eating her breakfast like a 'good' child. I smiled very passive aggressively at her, pulled my bowl closer to me and began to eat my cereal

When we were all done I was made to clear the table and clean up while my perfect sister pranced around the living room singing her stupid songs. I heard my phone buzz and grabbed it to see text from Pete I turned to face the window blocking my sister from view

Pete: u wanna meet 2day

Me: yess defo but I have to find a way first
Just as I finished typing the message I heard my mum shout from the other room
"Get off that phone and back to dishes"

and My knuckles whitened as I gripped the plate clenching my jaw. She could be so annoying
"No need to take your anger our on the plate." I soft voice said behind me
"DAD!" I said whipping around to see him standing there arms open
I sprinted over to him and jumped on him almost knocking him over
My dad was the last chance I had to going out with Pete.
"I'm so glad your here," I said into his shirt sounding muffled
When I took my head away from his shoulder I saw my mum looking at us smiling. My own smile soon turned into a frown
"Mum grounded me" I said immediately ratting her out.
"Oh, and why's that" he said still calm as a Daisy.
"I DON'T KNOW SHE WONT TELL ME" my voice started to raise along with my passion. I wanted to see Pete and I wasn't going to let her stop me
"She's been meeting a boy" my mum said defending herself.
"And?? We're friends!" I shot back
"They are definitely not just friends" my mum said her voice getting angrier
My dad motioned for us to calm down and placed a hand on my shoulder
"she is old enough to make her own decisions." he said calmly

"can I go to the pier with Amelia today?" I asked smiling up at my dad. but right when my dad was going to reply my mum interrupted.

"she cant she's grounded, she's not allowed to go anywhere unless it is school." she said adamantly to my dad.

i groaned and crossed my arms looking at her angrily. i ignored her and carried on talking to my dad. "please can i go pleaseee." he looked down at me and then back at my mum.

"come on, let her go it is with her friend Amelia." he said smiling "what could go wrong?"

my mum sighed and rubbed her forehead while she thought about our proposition

"you know what, fine but only because it is your friend i don't want anyone else going do you understand?" i nodded, hugged my dad and quickly rushed up stairs before she could change her mind. i pulled out my phone and wrote a message to Pete.

Me: can you meet at the pier?

...

Pete: yeah :)

i sighed happily and dialled Amelia's phone number. after a few rings she answered. i explained to her what had happened and she agreed straight away
