Chapter 14 - making necklaces

hope you enjoy (don't ask me why but for some reason i was picturing her house as Cleo's house from H2O just add water thought you might want to know)

pete was twisting his fingers nervously, i turned back to mike.

"thank you though mike." i said after a moment

i poked my head out the window and smiled at Pete as his face lit up

"are you okay? can i? well i mean, but are you.." Pete struggled to finish a sentence

"Pete, do you wanna come inside" i said trying to hide the smile that was forming on my lips. i knew i was being too forgiving and could just be setting myself up to be hurt again.
but
i need to make that mistake.

Pete's smile made my stomach fluttery and i rushed down to open the door for him, mike closely following.

"well i better go, my work here is done." he gave a quick grin to Pete and walked out the door.

not knowing where to look my eyes darted around while Pete stood confidently his entrancing eyes fixed on mine.
realising i was nervous he lay a gentle hand on my cheek and slowly made circles with his thumb gently his eyes almost admiring my face.
"you look so pretty today."
he said after a while of eye contact
"so do you." i said whispering

he blushed a looked down flustered he moved his hand back to his side and smiled shyly

he handed me a box of chocolates nervously waiting for my reaction
"thanks Pete" i said smiling at him, butterflies still having a party in my stomach

"i um." he cleared his throat "i brought beads and string so we could make bead necklaces"

i clapped my hands excitedly "ooo yes thank you thank you"

i took the beads and string that were in another box to the living room and sat down on the floor. Pete followed and sat beside me.

i carefully opened the box and chose the beads i wanted and added them on to the brown string one by one

"you are so gentle and careful when you do things." Pete said gathering some green and blue beads " and i love the concentration on your face when you do it"

he laughed and nudged me a little before carrying on. i smiled to myself and tried to stop the concentration face i had been pulling before.

i finished my necklace and i was trying to tie the end round my neck but struggling a lot

"wow yours looks so good would you like me to help you put it on?"

i nodded and turned round while giving him the necklace.
i felt a tingle as his hands touched my neck and lightly moved my hair to one side. and he delicately ties the necklace round my neck.

i tried to hide the blush that was forming on my cheeks when i turned round and saw him looking at me.

he just had some way about him that made me so comfortable yet so nervous. and somehow i knew he felt exactly the same way.

he finished his necklace a bit after and i put it on for him.
"we look so cool!" i said while we looked at ourselves in the mirror

"you look so cool you mean" he said looking down at me.
"nooooo" i said laughing because he was tickling me

"hey you wanna watch a movie?" he said running over to the living room again.

"yeah sure what do you wanna watch?"

"not endgame!" he said looking at me seriously

"what why not endgame?" i said offended

"because that film makes you cry and i don't want you to be sad."

i folded my arms "you cry too!" i said defending myself

"i cried twice!" he said running over and hugging me.

"if you want to watch endgame we can" he whispered in my ear. i buried my head in his chest and kept my arms wrapped around him.

"i just want to stay like this" i mumbled into him.

"what?" he said resting his chin on my head with his hands on my waist.

i mumbled it again deliberately this time.

"i can't understand youuuu" he said
and then tickled me again to get me to move.

he picked me up and carried me over to the sofa he lay me down gently and then lay next to me. so we were both lying length ways on the sofa our faces inches apart.

"hell-ooooo" i whispered

"hiiiiii" he whispered back and kissed me gently barely touching my lips as if he was worried he might damage them.

"i love you more than anything" he whispered eyes still interlocked

"that's a quote from infinity war, when Gamora and quill are in the-" i began

"shhhh" he said a finger at my lips

"i love you too." i said after a moments silence

"what film do you wanna watch?" i said

"honestly i am happy just lying here." he said "with you."

"me too" i said smiling and looking up and him

and so we did just lay there for probably about an hour chatting or just lying we talked about the holidays and how we had to go back to school until eventually we fell asleep in each other's arms. a warm and happy feeling deep inside me.

and later found that we were late for school.
because little did we know tomorrow was our first day.
