"Where do we start looking?" Don asked, watching Y/N hoist Gilda up onto the log they were standing on, a map held tightly in Ray's hands.

"How do you ideally think a fugitive would move without any sort of detection?" Y/N asked, fixing Gilda's cloak so the hood was placed properly over her head. "It should narrow our main objective points." They concluded.

"Right," Emma nodded, "they'd probably avoid paths other demons frequently use."

"On the other hand, they won't go through places where it'd be hard to run from pursuers." Gilda trailed off,

"That's true." Agreed Don.

"So, somewhere with multiple escape routes.. and easy to hide.." Emma pointed her finger at a small traced out triangle at the map, as Ray and Y/N nodded.

"We should try to get there while the suns still up."

~

"Footprints!"

Y/N glanced over at where Don was pointing,
"That's not them, unfortunately." They denied, as Don let out an aggravated sigh.

Y/N placed their hand down on one of the large footprints, shaking their head. "It's too small to be Sonju, and too big to be mujika."

"How do you know that?" Don questioned.

"I spent a while hunting with Sonju. One of his practices was telling his footprints from other wild life." Y/N began, outlining the footprint with their finger. "Sonju's were much bigger. And if these footprints just so happen to be mujika's, where's sonju's footprints? Or his horse's?"

Don crossed his arms, nodding. "True.."

"Besides," Y/N stood back up, brushing their hands off. "There would be traces of them covering their tracks if it were their footprints."

Ray nodded. "Yeah, and these prints look like it's something that walks on six legs.." he mumbled.

"So it's a pretty small, wild demon." Don acknowledged, while Emma crossed off their location on the map.

And then their search continued.

Crossing off numerous locations.

Taking occasional breaks for drinks and such,

Really just a long while of walking.

"Look, those birds!" Emma said, poking at Y/N's shoulder as they turned their attention to the birds flying above head.

"The migrating birds." They acknowledged.

"I'd they were hunting," Ray glanced down at the map, furrowing his eyebrows. "They'd do so in and open space."
