Kuroo had come out of the shower to Kenma staring at his phone as normal, and Bokuto running a truck load of gel through his hair. Kuroo pulled on black jeans, a white t-shirt and a black and red plaid shirt. He runs his fingers through his hair and grins at Bokuto.
"Come on." Kenma calls in a bored voice, looking up from his phone.
"Yeah yeah." Kuroo replies. "Not all of us are naturally as pretty as you Kenma, it takes time."
Bokuto chuckles and throws his hair gel tub in his bag, stuffing it into his locker. "Lets go then." He says.
Kuroo puts his own stuff away and heads for the door, throwing his arm out to guide Kenma through the opening, who was so glued to his phone he nearly walked into the frame. He watched Kenma walk off to the girl sat in the doorway and turned to face Bokuto, who's eyes looked kinda glazed over. Kuroo follows Bokuto's line of sight straight back to the door frame that Kenma and Akaashi now occupied.
"Earth to Bokuto!" He laughed.
"Uh.. what.." The other said, shaking his head.
"She's cute no?" Kuroo said, teasingly.
"I err, I hadn't noticed.." Bokuto replied.
"Sure you haven't, come on".
Kuroo was still laughing at the embarrassed Bokuto as they followed the shorter pair to their destination. It was a quiet cafe near the edge of the town. It had become their agreed place to go on the basis it was rarely crowded which appeased Kenma, and it sold a cake that Bokuto loved. Kuroo didn't care too much, as long as there was coffee available.
Kuroo was still laughing under his breath until Bokuto punched his arm. It was Bokuto's turn to laugh now as Kuroo looked mock offended and rubbed his arm.
"I wanted to talk to you about something actually." Kuroo said, slowing down his walking speed. Bokuto copied him, turning to look at his friend. He saw Kenma ahead of them, near the shop door. Kuroo waved him forwards, watching Kenma and Akaashi disappear inside the cafe.
"Could you keep this a secret though, especially from Kenma?"
Bokuto nodded, looking puzzled. It was to be expected, although he and Bokuto were really close friends, Kuroo had grown up with Kenma, they knew everything about each other. There were no secrets between them.
Kuroo leaned towards Bokuto and whispered in his ear. He pulled back, looking at Bokuto's eyes go wide with shock.
"That wasn't what I expected.." Bokuto starts.
"I'm sorry I shouldn't have told you! I just needed to tell someone." Kuroo says in a panicked voice looking the the floor.
"No, I didn't mean it badly," Bokuto says. "You're like a brother to me, you can tell me anything, I'll accept anything about you."
Kuroo looks up at Bokuto, a genuine smile across his face, and is pulled into a hug by Bokuto.
"You going to tell Kenma though?"
Kuroo pulled back from Bokuto's hug, and mutters a single word under his breath as he walked towards the cafe.
"No."
