Bokuto sat on the roof of his house like he always did on a Sunday morning. No one ever really noticed him sat up here, and he liked it that way, he could watch the people come and go, and it gave him time to just sit and think.
His mind drifted to Akaashi. She had been more and more distant from him since Halloween, and he had the same sinking feeling he did after the training camp. Was she just going to disappear again? He tried not to focus on the cold feeling now spreading itself through his chest, clutching at his heart. She was his friend right? He touched his lips, remembering how hers felt, and knew it wasn't just friendship for him anymore, he wanted more. He felt a tear roll down his cheek, he was scared of losing her again.
10:56 Bokuto: Akaashi, what are you doing today?
11:02 Akaashi: I'm busy, sorry Bokuto.
11:02 Bokuto: Oh, what you doing?
11:09 Bokuto: Do you need any help?
11:17 Bokuto: Akaashi?
Bokuto looked down at his phone, she had read his messages and not replied. He wanted to message Kuroo and vent, but he knew Kuroo was with Kenma today. Bokuto might be ruining any chance of having his own love life, but he was happy he finally made two of his friends start theirs.
Bokuto scrolled through his contacts, and finally settled on a name. It was a guy he met at Nationals last year, and while he had rubbed Bokuto up the wrong way a few times, he had a strong instinct for people.
11:37 Bokuto: Hey, long time no talk, how you doing?
11:37 Oikawa: Who's this, I don't have your number saved?
11:37 Bokuto: Bokuto from Fukurodani, we met last year at nationals.
11:38 Oikawa: Ah yes, killer spike, stupid hair. I remember.
Bokuto hadn't forgotten how much of a blunt and bitchy guy Oikawa was.
11:38 Oikawa: Any reason for your random message out the blue?
11:38 Bokuto: Was hoping for advice on my love life actually..
11:39 Oikawa: Fine, I have time. I love a good drama anyway.
Bokuto lay on the roof top, spilling his heart out to Oikawa, who expressed little to no opinions of the situation, just asking questions here and there.
12:08 Bokuto: So that about sums it up.
Bokuto looked at his phone to watch Oikawa typing. After a minute or two, Bokuto put down his phone, it was clear Oikawa was writing an essay. He looked down the street, and saw a black car parked outside of Akaashi's house that he'd never seen before. A tall guy with short black curly hair and blue eyes was lent against the back with the boot open.
Bokuto sees the front door open, and Akaashi walks out with a cardboard box in her hands, gives it to the guy, who puts it in the boot. She disappears back into the house and returns dragging two suitcases. She's leaving? Bokuto feels his heart rate increase, grabs his phone.
12:11 Bokuto: Some guys just driven to her house, shes putting suitcases in his boot.
He looked at his phone and saw Oikawa had stopped writing a message, then after a pause, it returned.
12:12 Oikawa: Send me a pic.
Bokuto held up his phone and took a picture as the guy was closing the boot. He sent it to Oikawa. The unknown guy wrapped his arms around Akaashi and kissed the top of her head. Together they got in the car and drove away.
Bokuto looked down at his phone and text Oikawa the update.
12:15 Oikawa: I dunno what to tell you mate, but it looks like she's moved on to me.
Bokuto let his phone drop to his side, lay back on the roof, and felt a slicing pain inside his heart. He rolled onto his side, and let the tears fall.
