Chapter 43

Last to know
Gracie's pov
"Well, Connor, Jayne I'm pregnant." I say placing a hand on my stomach.
"How did this happen?" Jayne asks.
"Well, a man and a woman ha-" I was cut off.
"Yeah, we got that part. I think she means how did you get pregnant." Connor says fixing his brown hair which was falling in front of his eyes.
"Well, Nathan and I are fully mated as you guys know. Basically he and I were having sex the other night and the condom broke."
"But that doesn't explain how your already pregnant."
"Well, I am a Luna to a pack I start getting bigger earlier."
"Oh, how long do we roughly have?" Jayne asks.
"Umm I'm not 100 percent but Kelsey was pregnant for 6 months."
"Ah so six months. We can work with that. I'm so excited for you!!" Jayne smiles hugging me.
"I'm petrified to be completely honest."
"Honey, that's normal. I can give you some advice if you want be like a mother to you." I tear up and look at her.
"Really?? You would actually be like a mother to me?"
"Yeah of course. I know I needed my mother at a time like this. Nathan's mom and I can be like your unofficial official mothers."
"I haven't even told them yet." Jayne looks shocked.
"You haven't told them yet?"
"No, we're waiting. We've decided to wait until I'm showing more before we tell them."
"That's a good idea! They'll be so happy when they find out though."
"I sure hope so. I'm so nervous though, I'm 17 this isn't supposed to happen."
"Things happen for a reason though maybe it's for the best."
"I hope you're right."
-end of pregnancy may 2014-
I was sitting with Kelsey and Dani backstage on the boys final tour. I started to experience horrible pain in my abdomen.
"Holy shit!" I groan holding my stomach.
"Gracie, did you piss yourself?" Kelsey asks.
"No, I think I'm having my baby." I say and look at the screen with the boys performing.
“We need to go now.” Dani exclaims helping me stand up. I scream in pain and look up at the screen. Nathan has stopped moving and looks like he’s having a conversation with the boys.
‘Grace, are you alright?’ Nathan asks me sounding worried.
‘No, ummm I’m going into labor.’
“Guys I’ve gotta go for a second. I think somethings wrong.” Nathan says and then I see Kelsey run onto stage.
“I’m sorry to all you fans who want to see Nathan perform with The Wanted but his girlfriend has just went into labor. I’m terribly sorry, Nathan lets go.” Kelsey practically drags Nathan off the stage.

At the Hospital -
“Breathe Gracie! Breathe It’ll be alright, breathe.” Kelsey instructs.
“I am fucking breathing.” I snap.
“Mam, we need you to sign somethings.” The doctor says. Dani looks at her like she is nuts.
“If she doesn’t get to a bed soon she’ll have the baby on the floor right now.” She explains angrily.
“Gracie!” I hear Nathan yell running into the hospital.
“Sir, calm down.” A nurse tells him.
“I can’t my girlfriend is in labor.” He says.
“Nathan… Nathan relax I’m right here.” I say trying to be calm about it. Unfortunately it didn’t work when another contraction came on.
"Alright honey, we have set up a room for you." They wheeled me back with Nathan by my side.
"Can you hop up on the bed?" The nurse asks kindly.
"Sure." I sat up rubbing my stomach.
"Calm down honey." I whisper to it. "You'll be here soon."

~At the end of the birth~

With one final push I collapsed on the bed panting. I couldn't hear a cry and grew worried.

"Why isn't there a cry." Suddenly a loud shrill fills my ears and I start to cry.

"Here he is, a beautiful baby boy." The nurses show me him.

"He's perfect."

"What are we going to name him?"

"I was thinking Xander Joseph." I smile looking up at Nathan.

"I think that's a name fit for an alpha. Xander Joseph Sykes." Nathan kisses me. Later that night we had been moved up into a private room and I was currently giving Xander his first bottle when there was a knock on the door.

"Come in." Nathan says quietly and a rush of chaos comes through. Jay, Daniela, Max, Lizzie, Siva, Nareesha, Tom, Kelsey and the twins.

"Hey babes, how are you doing?" Nareesha asks giving me a quick hug.

"I'm great to be honest, it's so weird to finally have Xander in my arms."

"That happens at first then it'll be natural." Kelsey smiles.

"I bet, where's my dad?" I ask upset he was missing an opportunity like this to see his grandchild.

"He'll be here." They assure me. Surely enough not long after they said that my dad comes bursting through the door. He rushes over to me.

“How are you feeling Gracie??” He asks.

“I’m great dad, this is Xander Joseph. Your grandson.” I say smiling proudly at him.

“Can I hold him honey?” I nod.

“Yes, will you finish giving him his bottle?” I ask. He nods and I carefully hand Xander over.

“I’m sorry but this mama needs to pee.” I go to get up and Nathan stops me.

“I’ll carry you.” He offers and I shake my head.

“I need to walk around.”

“Fine, I’m holding your hand though.” I smile.

“Deal.” He helps me up and together walk over to the bathroom. After I’ve finished what I had to do we head back to the bed. I sit down on the side and start talking with my dad.

“So is this the new alpha?”

“Yeah, whenever Xander becomes 20 the pack will become his as Nathan will step down.”

“Gracie, will you come here for a moment?” Nathan asks.

“Sure.” I stand up and turn to walk over to him. I gasp there he is on one knee again and that night at my 16th birthday party comes to mind when he gave me my promise ring.

“Gracie Myers, we’ve been through so much in the past two years and I can’t think of anyone better to spend my life with. Xander is the icing on the cake in this equation so what I’m trying to say is Gracie will you do me the amazing honor and become my wife?” He asks pulling out a diamond ring. I nod crying.

“Of course!! I would love to Nathan.” He slips the ring on and gives me a kiss.

“YAY!!!!” Everyone cheers and Xander wakes up crying.

“Awe baby.” I coo taking him from my dad. Nathan kisses Xander’s forehead.

“My beautiful family.” He whispers. We really are one beautiful family.
