[ Chapter Forty-Four ]

And He Closed His Eyes

The ship landed.

Lennox waited with Obi-Wan, it still felt weird to not have Scar by his side.

"What happened, Anakin?" Obi-Wan asked, making it clear that they were there too. "Where did it all go wrong?" He asked. Padme was shocked, sure, she knew Lennox would be there, but not Obi-Wan. "What are you doing here?" Anakin questioned.

"He must have stowed away. I swear Ididn't know he was on board, Anakin!" Padme spoke the truth, Anakin glanced at her, then his older brother. "What about Lennox? Did you know he was there." She nodded. "Go to the control tower, Padme." The younger Skywalker told her.

"No, why don't you stay and listen to whatyour husband has become." Obi-Wan said.

"Shut up, Obi-Wan. Padme, do as I say." Anakin repeated, angrily, "Now!" He spoke in a demanding tone. It was a tone that Lennox wasn't familar with, well, with Anakin that is.

Padme had hesitated, she wanted to hear it.

"How many lives have you taken, Anakin?How many lives did it take for your getwhat you wanted?" Obi-Wan questioned. Lennox just stood there, he knew his brother was far from gone. This was just the shell of Anakin Skywalker. "I have chosen my own path, Not the oneyou would have me take." Lennox sighed, this wasn't gonna end well.

Him and Obi-Wan walked towards Anakin.

"That much is for certain. Master Winduwas right about you. About youroverwhelming pride and arrogance. Didyou feel any guilt after you killed him?" Obi-Wan questioned further.

"Master Windu attacked me. I had nochoice." Anakin tried to defend the reasoning.

"There is always a choice, Anakin." Lennox and Padme shared a look, he didn't know what would happen, he didn't know what would happen at all.

"You've left me no choice but to kill you." Anakin stated.

Lennox looked back at his little brother, and remembered the real little brother he had as he closed his eyes. The one who would do anything for those he cared about. The one who was kind, but would put up a fight.

He opened his eyes, he didn't have the same look in his eyes as Anakin. They were similar, but they weren't the same.

Anakin was ready to kill because of anger.

Lennox was prepared to kill because he didn't want his younger brother to hurt others or himself.

Padme stood between the two Jedi and Vader. She tried to stop the fight before things got worse, but it didn't work. Ana-Vader, Vader force choked Padme, causing her to have trouble breathing.

Lennox went to move towards his brother, but changed directions by going by Padme's side, and staying there while he watched the other two move away.

"Padme." He whispered, tears were brimming in his eyes.

How long it was since Obi-Wan and Vader had started the fight? Lennox had no idea.

And soon enough, Obi-Wan came running to the ship. Lennox tapped his foot nervously, something Scar used to do when she was anxious.

All Obi-Wan had to do was look at him, and the Skywalker knew exactly what it meant.

Anakin was too far deep.

He was just glad when they arrived back home, and in the medical place.

Padme was on the gurney, they were now waiting for the news.

"Medically, there is nothing we can do forher." The medical droid explained. Lennox leaned against a wall, he felt weak, not just in the situation of Padme, but he felt weird.

He could barely keep his eyes open, he wasn't just tired, that was a different feeling than this.

"What happened to her?" The Kenobi asked. "I'm afraid her windpipe has been crushed.She is dying." Yeah, Lennox was in pain for sure.

"What can be done for her?"

"We need to operate quickly if we are tosave the babies." The droid stated. "Babies?" Bail questioned, very confused. "She's carrying twins." At that sentence, Lennox remembered Katerina and Frey.

"Save them, we must. They are our lasthope." Yoda said.

Only then, Obi-Wan noticed the pain Lennox was going through, but by then, Lennox nearly fell to the ground. Obi-Wan quickly grabbed him, and brought him to a different gurney near Padme.

"Obi-Wan..." Lennox trailed off, "Please, pr-rotect Ka-at and F-frey." Obi-Wan nodded.

And the Skywalker closed his eyes.

Look who actually decided to write a chapter for this.

Time for the epilogue, then the next book.

I'm honestly excited to write Kat and Frey.

Kat's gonna be a lot like Scar, but a hint of her dad, and Frey's gonna be the opposite.
