it's been a week since jungwon started hanging out with them and so far he was loving it. all of the guys always makes him feel like he really belongs in the group, like they've been friends for years already.

he was shy during the first day, didn't talk much but the guys kept including him in their conversations and plans. just a few days after, he has warmed up to them.

today was another day where sunghoon and sunoo went flower picking again. those two seems to love doing it together so much. jungwon can simply call the others and hang out even without them but coincidentally had plans on their own too.

jake said he was free to visit the tree house if he wanted to though. jungwon doesn't see the use of coming there if they weren't there but his aunt had some visitors over and they were being loud. so he still end up going to the tree house alone with the book he planned to finish today.

the atmosphere there was perfect for book reading, it was quiet and he can definitely feel the fresh air coming in from the tree house' windows. just like what jungwon always wanted and was used to.

it's only been a week but he misses his bed room back at their home already. it was always just him and his books there.

though he doesn't mind this change he has for the summer.

he only has gotten until the 20th chapter of the book when the door of the tree house opens. it reveals jay, surprising jungwon. he thought jay had to come to a gathering with his parents?

"hey wonnie."

he felt himself blush when jay called him that nickname. sunoo has called him that before too but why doesn't he feel that way? why doesn't he feel the tingly feeling that he's feeling now?

okay, maybe it's because sunoo is his cousin and he has a tiny crush on jay.

wait what-- crush?

jungwon was internally panicking but he didn't make it obvious when jay sat beside him. he hopes the blush on his cheeks isn't noticeable.

"why are you turning red?"

oh what does the universe have against him?

"it's because it's hot." he lies.

"what? but all the windows are open?"

can't jay just take a hint that he doesn't want to answer that?

jay then leans closer to look at the book he was holding. jungwon holds his breathe and swears that if jay gets closer, he will lose it.

it's his first time having a crush and he doesn't know how to handle it well. countless of books he has read but none of them taught him what to do.

"oh is that book fiction?" jay ask, now looking at him.

he was too close to jungwon. it looks like jay wasn't bothered by it while jungwon was full on panic mode.

"uh yes.. one of my favorites."

"oh nice." jay nods. "I'm not really a fan of reading books. I like looking at the pictures there though, but words bore me."

"well you do look like one who doesn't read." jungwon muttered but then realized what he just said. "I don't mean it in an offending way."

jay laughs before nudging him. "no offense taken, don't worry."

jungwon was stunned to hear the sound of jay's laugh. he heard the older laugh before but this one is different, he was the reason of it.

well he might have smack himself mentally already. he wanted to cringe because of the way he's acting.

"I'm glad." was the only words he can say.

he's socially awkward without his cousin. he should've just joined them pick flowers instead of being stuck alone with his potential crush or whatever.

"loosen up a bit, wonnie."

oh man he keeps blushing because of the nickname.

"I can feel that you feel nervous around me. is it because we're not that close yet?"

"yes" okay, that was half a lie. he is tense because as said already, he doesn't know how to keep a conversation with someone, but he's mostly tense because it was jay!

"don't worry. this summer, I will not let you leave here without me being your bestfriend."

jungwon nods and pout. he wanted to be more than bestfriend.

I don't think I've mentioned this already but this one is gonna be short.
