Priestess' Warmth (Slow Update)

Chapter 8

Kiara's POV:

This era just keeps on getting worse day by day. Many demons came charging into me this past few days and I just finished eliminating three awhile ago. Their greed will kill them, they are blinded by the power and authority that they will gain once they hold some pieces of the Shikon Jewel.

In the years that I've been sealed, many things have happened already. The words of the dead flesh of Kikyo just show how Naraku is slowly nearing his goal.

I will stop him even if it costs me my life. I am the first guardian of the Shikon Jewel and it will be a shame of me to let some evil demon who is blinded by greed take a hold of it!

I let out a sigh and continued walking, glancing up at the sky. It's starting to get dark, the sun is already setting and the moon and stars are already making their appearances.

I looked for a perfect place to rest for the night and when I found it, I gathered some wood and made a fire to help me stay warm. I just hope it doesn't rain.

I am not that hungry but I need some strength for tomorrow because I'm not sure what will happen.

So I went to the nearest river and caught myself a fish. It's a little hard because I am not used it catching fish, I can shoot a board, a deer o, or a bear but fish can be a little hard for me.

Sesshomaru is the one who does the catching for me.

I giggled when I remembered those times.

     "Dear, are you certain that you can catch one?" I ask Sesshomaru trying to contain my laugh. He's standing in the middle of the river trying to catch fish with his green poisonous whip. Every time he swings his hand, he looks very manly and elegant. Just like how a Lord would be

I finally left out a laugh

"Are you underestimating me, my love?" Sesshomaru said and looked at me in the eyes.
"This Lord of the West can do such simple things. I'm a dog demon love"

I stopped laughing and blush because of the looks he is giving me,

" Oh no no, hurry up and catch one so that your dearest can eat the meal you worked hard for " I coughed and looked away making a gesture in my one hand urging him to continue what he was doing.

I saw his lips curve upwards and continue with his business.

And finally, he catches lots of them.
I smiled and clapped getting near the river to welcome him and get those fish for cooking.

He handed me the fish and helped me prepare the fire and the things we would need.

We decided to eat outside for a while, just near the village. Just the two of us.

The food was ready so I took it it and handed it to Sesshomaru.
" Are you going to take a bite dear? You don't eat human food."

He looked at me and got the fish " I am going to eat love, you cooked it so I will consume it" he said and leaned forward to kiss my forehead.

I smiled and sat down just beside him.
I leaned my body to him and he put his arms around me. He glanced at the Sacred Jewel that was dangling around my neck

" Always take care of yourself," he said softly.

" I will" I moved upward to catch his lips. He responded and we shared a kiss that was full of love and passion. He is mine and I am his.

Sesshomaru...
One tear left my eye. I miss him....so much. I want to see him, please.
I look up and see the dark skies filled with stars.

Whenever you are my dear, we are always looking up at the same sky.
I finished everything that I had to do and retired for the night. Not forgetting to put up a barrier to protect myself.

"SESSHOMARU!!" I shouted when I saw him fighting many demons to protect our village.

He glanced at me and continued to focus on killing those pests.

I pointed my arrow at those demons who came charging. Once I released it, there was a string of purple lights coming with it. And when it hits the target they all become dust creating purple glitters that are falling from the sky.

I continued fighting alongside Sesshomaru. I am confident because I know he is beside me. And it's not hard to fight these lots of these weak demons because Sesshomaru is here with me.

Sesshomaru released a green whip and slashed all of them while turning. He finished them off and swayed his hand removing the blood that was from the demons.

He walked close to me and hugged me tight. Like once he let go, I will be gone.

I hugged him back. The villagers are inside their homes. I instructed them to stay inside their houses and that I would not need their help because Sesshomaru was there.

" They are after the jewel you are holding again" He whispered next to my ear.

" I know, this will be more harder and harder. I have to put up a stronger barrier" I answered him and kissed his neck.

He gripped me more tighter.
" You should do that, I don't know what will happen once they attack this village and I am not around to help and protect you."

My heart tightened at his words.
"Don't worry, I will protect myself. And once I can't, I want you to wait for me."

" I will always wait for you, my love."

I let go of the hug and so did he. We went back to the village. The villagers are welcoming us. Very glad that we came back safely.

Sesshomaru stays emotionless and cold towards them. But I know this village is important to him.

We made it to my house and We both rested in my bed.

"What will happen if the Jewel is not in your hands?" He asked out of nowhere.

" Maybe it will be in the hands of Kikyo and I will be an ordinary priestess."
I answered honestly.

" I see" he nodded.

" What if you are not a demon Sesshomaru? Or what if you are half?" I ask back.

He stiffened not liking my question but he still answered.

" I don't want to be a human my love, and I have a brother.... a half-demon. He is the reason why my father died."

I gasped and said sorry for asking but he said anything would be fine as long as it was me.

We stayed silent for a while and I am starting to fall into a deep sleep.
" I love you" I muttered

I felt him kiss my forehead
"I love you too"
