Kiara's POV:
"I'm so glad you are alright my lady," Jaken said with so much relief in his voice. I nodded at him
I am here sitting while my back is leaning on the tree behind me. Kouta's arms were wrapped around me, he was fast asleep. I smile as I hear my son purr and snuggle closer to my chest
Sesshomaru's sitting beside me staring at us quietly.
"I'm so glad you're doing fine Jaken," I answered Jaken.
I notice a girl standing beside a two-headed dragon. She met my eyes and blushed. I smiled at her and motioned her to come closer.
She was startled at first and her face turned red. How cute
She walked shyly towards me and I handed Kouta to Sesshomaru carefully.
I face her with a smile hoping she will not find me scary or intimidating. I do not want children to be scared of me
"I'm Kiara, what is your name child?" I ask her softly
"I-'m Rin" she replied still not meeting my eyes.
"Lovely" I smiled and patted her head. She suddenly looked at me with admiration like a child looking at her mother.
she finally smiled back.
We talked a lot and I found out that she was attacked by wolves and Sesshomaru saved her. After that, she followed him wherever he went.
I admired how brave Rin is. She knew that Sesshomaru was a demon but she still followed him because of one good thing he did to her. She respected Sesshomaru even though he could take her life any time he wanted.
I felt sad at the same time, no child should've been experiencing such tragedies and traumas. Every single child deserves to be loved. No exception.
Night came and we just finished eating. Jaken and Rin left me and Sesshomaru alone for a moment.
Silence engulfed the surroundings and the cracks of wood burning are the only thing you can hear.
Kouta fell asleep again after finishing dinner. He is now using my lap as his pillow. Sesshomaru is in front of us still looking at us with softness in his eyes. Though his facial features are still hard and stern.
" How did you find him Sesshomaru?" I started the conversation.
"Rin found him. I went where she found him and saw Kouta sealed."
"Then a priestess named Kikyo explained everything to me." He continued.
He stood up and went near us. He bent down and carried Kouta to properly sit down on my lap. Kouta whimpers and rests his head on my chest still sleeping.
I was confused about what is Sesshomaru doing but then he carried both of us in his arms and sat me down on his lap.
I let out a Yelp at the sudden movement of his.
"What are you doing ?"
"I prefer having you both in my arms" he whispers in my ear as he rests his forehead on my shoulder.
My heart fluttered.
It feels like he's been so exhausted and as he embraces me is like he finally found rest.
He sighed in relief as he raised his head to look at me still, he continued to embrace us.
Me and his child.
I leaned my head in between his head and shoulders, my forehead touching his cheek. My arms are around Kouta while his head is leaning on my chest.
"I'm sorry" Sesshomaru suddenly apologized.
"I'm sorry I was not able to protect the both of you years ago. "
His whispers are full of anger, regret, and longing.
"Hmm-" I hummed and pressed my body against him.
"-We're here now. Safe and sound in your embrace. "
He didn't say anything but I felt his arm tightening around us.
Silence engulfed us as we welcomed and accepted each other's longing, regret, and love.
"Why is Kikyo inside Mt. Hakurei?" I suddenly remembered that Kikyo helped them.
"I do not know .-" Sesshomaru said."- from what I know, demons are also inside that mountain." He continued.
"But It's a sacred Mountain, my love. How can that be?" I ask confused. Why are there demons inside a sacred mountain?
"Naraku might be hiding there." He said.
I nodded when I realized that he was not wrong.
Kikyo said that she had plans. But what can that be?
"Naraku is getting greedy and wants to finish us all off. We need to purify him by the use of the Shikon jewel"
"How certain are you that it will work completely?" Sesshomaru asks.
"No swords will be able to defeat him. He will just generate back whenever you cut him. It is the only way Sesshomaru" I explained.
"I wonder what's Kikyo choice" I whispered.
"We will find out together my love," Sesshomaru said softly. His words relax me. And I just felt my eyes closing and falling into deep sleep. Wrapped around his arm with my child in my arms.
I hope we stay like this forever
