Trifle

Trifle is one of my favourite childhood deserts that we always use to have in the summer.This recipe is super easy and yummy!

Ingredients:
6 Sponge fingers, halved horizontally into thick slices
2 Fresh cups of strawberries or raspberries
2 Cups of jelly
2 Cups of homemade custard (Canned custard will do as well)
Whole raspberries or strawberries (to decorate)
Toasted flaked almonds (to decorate)
Grated chocolate (to decorate)

Method:

1-Gather ingredients.

2-Line the bottom of the trifle bowl or glasses with the sponge fingers or cake in a nice even layer.

3-Cover the fingers with a thick layer of raspberries or strawberries.

4-Slowly and gently pour over 1/3 of the liquid jelly and put into the fridge—doing this will set the sponge and fruit into the bottom of the bowl.

5-Once set pour the remaining jelly and leave to set.

6-Cover with a generous layer of custard on top.

7-Finish with a layer of whipped cream.

8-Decorate with any of the ingredients listed to decorate.
