POV Hope: I breathed deeply. We're going back to the hospital for the first time today. Owen is going back to work, Amelia just to do paper work, and I have to go to therapy with Dr. Thompson. I think Amelia is also on edge. I slipped on a John's Hopkins sweatshirt and jeans and grabbed my homeschool bag. "You ready?" Amelia appeared in my doorway. "No not really," I admitted. I flopped onto the bed and Amelia laid down with me. We stared at the white ceiling. "Mom? Will it ever be normal again?" I asked. "Eventually with some work, we'll get through it," she said brushing back my hair. I curled up against her and she wrapped her arms around me. We stayed there for about a minute before Amelia patted my leg, "Let's get up now, we gotta go soon." I hauled myself out of bed and we headed downstairs. "Good morning my girls!" Owen smiled handing us each banana pancakes. I drizzled the syrup on the pancakes and quickly shoveled them into my mouth. We all headed out the door.
My breath quickened as a saw the big sign on the hospital. We all walked to the front door and I stopped. I turned to Amelia, "Do we have to go in right now?" "Well I need to head in," Owen said his feet facing the door. Amelia put her hands in her leather jacket pockets, "Well you know what, I can stay outside for a little bit." "I love you both, see you later!" Owen said kissing us both and rushed inside. Amelia held out her hand and I took it. She led me to the bench and we sat down. I stared at the door. "What's going on?" she asked. I leaned on her shoulder. "He's going to come back for us again," I whispered. Amelia held my head, "I know it's hard to believe, but we're safe. He won't ever touch you again." I pursed my lips trying to believe her. I saw a tall man out of the corner of my eye. "Well hello Shepherds," Koracick said walking up to us. "Have you ruined my department yet?" Amelia teased. "Well if you must know I'm doing even better than you. Meningioma guy says so," he bragged. I chuckled. "Hey little Shepherd, what's new?" he asked me. "Uh nothing much I guess, just sitting here," I said plainly. "That's nice... Uh well I have to go in now see you both later," he replied running into the hospital.
I felt the breeze run through my hair as I stared at the hospital. It's the place where most people feel safe, but it isn't safe to me.. not anymore. My thoughts circled my brain from you're okey, but you're not safe, to ugh I have to go to therapy. I looked at the sky and then I remembered that I promised myself that I wouldn't let him take anymore from me. I felt determined to try. I imagined myself walking through those doors to mentally prepare myself. "I think I'm ready now," I sucked in a deep breath. "Really?" she asked. I nodded. I forced my legs to keep moving and we finally walked in. I looked around and absorbed the familiarity. The anxiety started to fade the smell of the hospital sinking in. "Nice to see you back Shepherd," Dr. Webber greeted with his soft smile, "Oh and hey there Hope." Amelia talked briefly with him and I gave an awkward smile.
We headed toward the attending's lounge and Amelia changed into scrubs. I plopped myself down on the couch pulling out my laptop. I checked my phone to see a couple texts from Kelsie. I smiled as we chatted about school and Seattle. Maybe we'd get along after all. A news article popped up and I furrowed my brows. "What are you looking at?" Amelia asked looking over my shoulder. "My laptop recommended an article about biological mom and dad," I started to call them that because I call Owen and Amelia mom and dad now. I skimmed the article. It was called Mathematician's or Agents? Bella and Tom Lynson genius mathematician's may have turned out to be CIA agents. "How did you find that? That article was posted years ago and should be filtered out of your laptop," she wondered. She gave me a scary look and I shrunk back. "What did you do?" her eyes piercing in me. "I have a bot filtering the internet..."I whispered. "Can't hide anything from you can I?" she said smiling. "So you're no mad," I asked. "Oh no there's not much I can do about it," Amelia replied casually. "You might as well tell me everything now," I said trying to get more information. "Nope," she said simply, turning around and going to the bathroom.
A/n: Hope you enjoyed! I had to make up the therapist because I couldn't think of one in greys that wasn't kinda old. Also I brought back some more biological parents mystery. This story is not gonna finish anytime soon with that plot in mind haha. AND to make up for my late posting and short chapters I'm posting a bonus chapter this week!
