The next day Gemmy and mom tried everything they could to get me out of bed but I just couldn't manage to move. No matter how hard I tried.
They eventually gave up and both went shopping. During the time they were out I thought to myself about Bri, my birth mother, and how much Gemmy and mom have really been helping me.
I laid there and thought. About everything. A few hours later Gemmy and mom got back to see me still in the same position in bed. Mom walked in and carefully whispered my name, I asked what she wanted.
She sat on the bed, put her arm around me, and handed me a sheet of paper. I took it and started reading, I was officially her daughter...she officially adopted me, changed my name and changed my gender.
"Look at the last page" she said quietly. I looked and widened my eyes. They had scheduled my surgery to be 100% female. I rolled over and squeezed mom.
I was so stressed that I had been ignoring her and Gemmy all day. "Sorry" I murmured to which mom looked down at me and said "it's all okay now...nothing is going to happen to you."
That relaxed me so I walked outside and hugged Gemmy not only as the best, best friend but also as my sister. "Are you ready for next Friday?" Gemmy asked to which I gave a dull "not really...I will be though".
This made Gemmy squeeze me harder and pull me over to the couch. She started to stroke my hair again and slowly dragged me back to sleep.
So I'm not really sure where to go with this story other than the surgery...any suggestions on what I should do before AND after the surgery?
