A Gem, A Lili, and destiny

The surprise.

I continued following Mom when she said we were at the store. I hadn't realized that we were going to another store so I hadn't been reading the store names. It was then that I looked up and realized we had gone straight to an American Girl Doll shop.

In that moment my eyes lit up. I had always wanted an American girl doll and now I had been getting one. Mom took my hand and lead me into the store. "Go find which one you want!" She exclaimed at me. I don't know if she had picked up on the fact that being treated younger calms me or not but I was ok with it either way.

I walked around for a little bit and found one that was in a pink dress and had pink hair. I looked at Mom and said "Mom can I have this one?" She looked at it and thought for a minute before saying "sure princess! If this is what you want then this is what we are getting!"

Mom saw Gemmy wandering in the corner and so she told me to go tell Gemmy to pick one out too! She was really happy when I told her and picked one that kinda looked like me. I don't know why but now Gemmy, Destiny, and I can play dolls! Mom bought us our American Girl Dolls and took us to the car.

We had done quite a bit of stuff today but as soon as we got in the car Mom looked at me and said "alright one more place to go!" Just like everything else I had no idea where we were going. I just napped on Gemmys shoulder and waited.

I woke up to Gemmy shaking me awake and hugging me. I was too groggy to get up so Gemmy just picked me up and carried me. As I came to my senses I saw that I was in Gemmys lap in some sort of store. I slowly woke up and realized that I was sitting in my big sisters lap, in public. I quickly got off and moved to the chair next to her.

"What's wrong?" She asked. I looked at her for a moment and replied with "nothing. Just thrown off by the fact that I was napping in my sisters lap in public" she giggled and went to tell the lady at the desk that I was awake.

When she came back I asked "so...where are we? And where's mom?" She looked at me and said "we are getting our hair done! Mom is getting hers done now, I already got mine done and you are next! Sadly we couldn't get three seats at the same time."

I thought about this and said "so I can have my hair done however I want?"

"Yup!" She replied

"Yay!" I exclaimed happily and with that I was called to a chair. The lady looked at my short size and asked me what I wanted in a cooing voice. I looked at her and said "first of all I am 12 so don't treat me like a kid and second I would like my hair dyed in a rainbow pattern."

I stared at her while she processed what I had just said. After she had processed it, she looked at me and said "I'm sorry about that let me get right to work on your hair" so she went to the back to get the dyes while Mom walked up and scolded me for how I talked to her.

From what I could tell I wasn't going to have a fun time tonight because of it. Mom sat back down and the stylist came back out to do my hair.

She first did three stripes of red, then orange, then yellow and so on. When the stylist finished she held up a mirror for me to see. "I also styled it a bit I hope you don't mind!" She said enthusiastically.

I turned my head in each direction and said "no it's great, thank you!" She seemed to be surprised by that but happy with it. I went to Mom and Gemmy where Mom grabbed my arm as I was about to hug Gemmy close. She payed and dragged me to the car with Gemmy following behind.

I looked back at Gemmy and she just shook her head, I hadn't realized I was doing something wrong. Mom drove us all the way home without talking and to make it worse she made Gemmy sit in the front seat so I couldn't even lean on her to sleep. When we got home Mom opened the door and grabbed me by the arm again just to drag me into the spare bedroom.

"You will sit in here until tomorrow morning. The way you treated that lady was unacceptable. Gemmy will bring you dinner and then leave. Other than that this door should never open." She said sternly.

I didn't get enough sleep last night...anyways anything anyone wants to see from the story? Anything people think they still need to do before the surgery?
