THE ONLY SOUND IN THE ROOM was the ticking of the clock on the wall, it was half passed four in the afternoon, and taylor was sat in the art classroom drawing, she spent most of her time in this classroom. she had decided that spending more time in school after school had ended would give her a reason to stay away from home for a little longer everyday.

she hummed too herself as the pencil balanced in between her fingers glided across the paper.she had no clue what she was drawing, she just found the sound of the pencil on the paper comforting. it was these moments she loved and wished her life was full of them.

she dreaded going home, she knew her father was till upset about her mother but people in school were starting to get curious about the random bruises on her face and sooner or later someone would put to and to together and realise what was happening to her.

taylor was never one for speaking about her problems, she liked to ignore them. she felt that if she ignored them for long enough they would go away, but she had been waiting eight years for that to happen and she was still being hit at night.

she closed her eyes for a moment and cleared her head, she could cry about her horrible her life was when she was at home right now she was safe in school in the one place she felt happy. she wouldn't let her father ruin that part of her life too.

the sound of loud voices i the hall just outside broke taylor from her trance. she groaned, basketball practise was finished and the school would be shut soon. she frowned, the quietness that she had previously was enjoying was now ruined.

she stood up from her seat and walked out the door. a few boys from the basketball team were stood in the hall laughing and passing the ball to each other.nobody noticed her standing there until she cleared her throat.

"sorry but could you assholes keep it down, you know there is a what is called a school gym for basket ball, i don't know if you noticed but this is a hallway where people like me are trying to work"

they all turned to face her, some of the boys glared at her, they hated when people interrupted there practices.others 'ooood' at the fact she had made a sarcastic comment. this annoyed her more.

"how do you know where not trying to practise here too" a boy, the captain, derek said smirking at her. he played with the ball in his hands.

"and as i said, the gym is for basketball, that why they built it, so maybe you dicks should use it" she growing angrier by the second and she wanted to wipe that smirk of the captains face so bad.

"well, i have a ball and i have teammates so if i say its practise it's practise"he replied, the boys behind him continued to chuckle they had never seen taylor this angry she was normally very quiet and composed. she only spoke when being asked too.

now she was arguing with them like she had never done before. and to be honest she surprised her self as well, she was surprised at how confidently she was doing it. normally she would stutter or her throat would close up and no words would come out, but now she was actually having a conversation, well argument, and her voice was completely steady.

the captain still wearing his annoying smirk. came towards her dribbling the basket ball, she rolled her eyes at how cocky and stuck up he was. it was these people she hated so much.

"see" he said as he stopped infront of her. she -having enough of this argument- turned away, and started to walk off.

"hey, hold on, hold on"he called and she whipped back around. "what, do you want", he smirked again he liked annoying her he found her comebacks witty and very funny.

"if you get the ball from me, maybe i'll stop" she arched an eyebrow."all i have to do is get the ball from you" she asked. he nodded.

he started to dribble the ball again moving it in fancy ways. her mother always said if a boy is being annoying just to hit him where it hurt and that would show him, so taylor kicked him where it hurt not hard enough to make him double over in pain but enough to shock him.

his hands dropped the ball and rushed to the place where her foot made contact with his body.she doing what she was told picked up the ball.

"see you boys in the gym" she said, she then through the ball back to derek who caught it.

"don't worry hale, she's a loser all she knows is how to play dirty not fair"one of his team mates said.

"maybe i just gave your captain what he deserved"she stated.

the boys rolled there eyes. she gave them the middle finger and walked off. back to the art room.

derek stood in the hall watching her leave. he realised at that moment what an idiot he had been. she didn't want any trouble and they were being way to loud on the corridor anyway.and not only had he humiliated her by challenging her but one of his friends had also called her a loser which for him would probably hurt.

the confident smirk on his face dropped. he felt terrible, but he let it go, she had kicked him and to be honest it hurt him. his team mate jack walked up behind him.

"don't bother with her hale, she's a loner, she's never had any friends, and to be honest with the way she acts i can see why" for some odd reason that statement seemed to annoy derek. they had no clue what could of been going on with her, to say that she was a loner and acted weird was wrong.

"you don't know anything about her how can you be so sure that she's always acted like that" derek asked. jack placed a hand on his shoulder. "seriously hale drop it she's a weirdo," jack walked off along with the rest of the boys.

he walked to wards the art room and peered in. he saw her sitting in one of the chairs drawing a peace full look on her face. he smiled she didn't seem weird at all, she seemed misunderstood. there was something about her that he liked, he wanted to get to know her.

but he'd do that tomorrow, his uncle was waiting for him outside and if their was one thing peter was known for, it wasn't his patience.
