Chapter 31
After his talk with Seungkwan, MingMing, and Jun in the kitchen, Chan was nervous. He finally realized that he had screwed up by jumping to conclusions and taking out his anger on Jeonghan. He knows that now, but it is hard for him to make amends with his Hyung. He knew that there was some truth to what MingMing told him, that Jeonghan loves him so much that he would probably let him get away with murder. But he knew that everyone had a breaking point, and that there was a line that you do not cross. And Chan is pretty sure that he not only crossed that line, but he shoved Jeonghan off the edge of a cliff. So, even though he knows that his Hyung loves him, he's not sure that he can just ask for forgiveness now. And that freaked him out more than he cared to admit.
Even though he was very uncomfortable with this, he knew that he needed to do this. He owed it to himself, and his brother to do the right thing. And most of all he owed it to Jeonghan to apologize to him. Which is why he now finds himself standing outside the door to the room that he was supposed to be sharing with the elder. Though he didn't know if he would be welcomed there again. And he was fully prepared to go and sleep out on the couch tonight with Mingyu if he had to. But first he had to do this. The only problem that he had now was that he was scared to go and knock on the door. He didn't think that Jeonghan would automatically turn him away or anything, but the anxiety of it was still very daunting for him.
After a couple of minutes of pacing up and down the hallway Chan had decided that enough was enough. He was going to apologize to Jeonghan and he was going to do that right now. And before he could chicken out and run away again he went and knocked on the bedroom door. He made sure to knock loudly so that he could be heard, and took a step back so that he wouldn't be hit with the door. It took a couple of seconds before someone came to the door. And it didn't even dawn on Chan that Jeonghan and Joshua could be asleep or something. He thought that it was very unlikely that they would be asleep after everything, but you can never be too sure about that. Luck did seem to be on his side though, when Joshua opened the door for him about a minute after he knocked. If the elder was surprised to see him then he didn't show it. Though all that Chan could do was look down at the floor. He was too embarrassed and ashamed to look at the elder in the eyes.
Neither one of them said anything at first, for a couple of moments. Then Joshua was the one to break the silence between the two of them. "Hey Channie," Joshua said to him softly. "Do you need something?" The elder asked him. And if Chan didn't know any better he would say that Joshua didn't sound like he just smacked him a couple of hours ago in a righteous furry. Chan waited a couple of beats before he spoke again. "Uh, sorry for bothering you Hyung." Chan said. "I um.. I,.. Is Jeonghan-Hyung awake?" He asked him. "I didn't mean to wake you guys up if you were asleep, but I wanted to, no I need to talk to Hyung." He said. "I need to apologize to Hyung." He said softly. Joshua didn't say anything at first, and Chan thought that the calm elder was going to blow up on him again. "Yeah, he's awake." Joshua said. "He's in the bathroom, brushing his teeth." He told him. "You can come and talk to him if you would like." Joshua said. "I have to go check on HaoHao and MingMing." He told him. "And I think that it would do him some good to talk to you." Joshua said. He then moved to leave the room and allow the younger to come in. But Joshua paused on his way out and put a hand on the younger's shoulder. Chan stopped and turned to his Hyung. "Yes Hyung?" He asked him. "I'm very proud of you Chan-ah." Joshua told him. "And I'm sorry about your face." He told him. Chan just smiled and laughed at him. "It's okay Hyung, don't worry about it, I deserved it for being a brat." He told him. Joshua just smiled at him, and then he went down the hallway.
