Recap: Juliet recaps Homecoming with Evan. The New Directions partner up to sing duets. Wicked auditions take place, and Juliet decides to aim high and audition for Elphaba.

A/N: I really do apologize for the sporadic updates. I'm very busy with school and I'm struggling to find time to sit and write, but I promise you I'm still here working behind the scenes. Enjoy this chapter.

"It's time for our annual girls versus boys mash up competition!" All of us returning members clapped and cheered. "For those of you who are new, it's exactly what it sounds like. This time, I'd like you to sing a mash up of songs traditionally sung by the other gender."

"Girls aren't just all pretty and nice. Not every girl fits into society's made up female expectations," Quinn said.

"Same with boys," Kurt added. "Men don't have to be masculine."

"Exactly," Mr. Schuester replied. "Let's defy gender norms this week! Split up into two groups and start brainstorming what mash up you will sing on Friday."

"Mr. Schuester!" Rachel called. "What about the Wicked cast list."

"Yes, thank you for reminding me. That will be posted outside later this afternoon."

"Who won the duet last week?" Quinn asked eagerly.

"I'm glad you brought that up, too. I've chosen a winner, but I've decided not to tell you yet. I don't want that information to influence what you do this week. Alright, that's enough of me talking. Go on and get at it!"

"Okay ladies! Who has song ideas?"

"Is the hobbit not versed in any other genre besides show tunes? Shocking." Rachel shot Santana a look.

"My dad listens to Bon Jovi," I said. "I mean, everyone knows Bon Jovi, right?"

"I do," Quinn backed, which earned her some strange looks. "What? I listen to music too!"

"Okay, okay," Mercedes started. "Bon Jovi. What song?"

"'It's My Life?'"

"Nah. The guys did that last year."

"Oh. Right."

"'Livin' on a Prayer?'"

"That could work."

"What else?"

"Another Bon Jovi song or something else?"

"Beatles? Rolling Stones? AC/DC? Led Zeppelin?"

"Pink Floyd? Fleetwood Mac? Aerosmith?"

"Damn. Well if anyone needs classic rock advice, go ask Juliet or Quinn."

"Let's narrow that down a bit."

"Haven't we already done The Beatles?"

"At least once," Tina said.

"Rolling Stones," I threw out.

Santana shrugged her shoulders. "Okay, what song?"

"'You Can't Always Get What You Want?'"

"That doesn't really fit the vibe."

"'Satisfaction?'"

"Eh."

"'Start Me Up?'"

"Maybe."

"Does anyone have any other ideas?"
