- 8 - A Wedding

Recap: The Glee Club dedicated a week to working on Wicked. Juliet talked with Kurt again about his bullying, forming a closer connection between the two. Kurt and Mercedes talk to Juliet about her relationship with Evan. To Juliet's surprise, Quinn also approaches her to talk about Juliet's relationship with Evan.

"Kurt and I have some news to share with you all." I shifted my full attention to Kurt and Finn standing in the middle of the room. "My mom..."

"And my dad..."

"Are getting married!"

"Oh my gosh!"

"That's amazing!"

"Are you excited?"

"I'm so happy for you guys!"

"Thanks guys," Finn said. "We actually have a favor to ask."

Mr. Schue nodded. "We'd like it if the New Directions could sing at the wedding."

"Of course!"

"Absolutely!"

"We'd love to!" Kurt and Finn both smiled.

"Wait," Brittany started. "Are you like, brothers now?"

"Step brothers," Kurt corrected.

"And you'll live together?" Santana asked. "Wanky."

Finn and Kurt both rolled their eyes, but Finn added "so you'll do it?"

"I think the New Directions has some wedding planning to do!" Mr. Schuester announced.

We all gathered around Finn and Kurt, letting them do most of the talking. We needed two songs. One for when Finn's mom walks down the aisle, and another for the first dance at the reception. Kurt and Finn told us that everyone should have a part in the first song, while they wanted the second one to be more centered around them. We settled on the reception song first. Finn and Kurt would sing "Just the Way You Are" by Bruno Mars. The song for the actual wedding was more tricky because that's such an important song. Nevertheless, we decided to sing "Marry You," and everyone would have a solo in this one.

"Before we start rehearsing today and before anyone asks, I've already started working on our setlist for Sectionals next week. But for right now, we don't need to worry about that. Let's focus on the happy love this week."

After a little while of practicing, I found Evan and sat next to him. "Hey."

"Hey yourself," he replied. "Uh, how are you?"

"I'm good, yeah. How are you?"

"Good." We sat there and stared at each other, neither of us knowing what to say. "So the wedding... that's exciting."

"Yeah, it should be a lot of fun. I'm happy for Kurt and Finn."

"Me too. I was surprised to see that you didn't get Elphaba."

"Really? I kind of wasn't." I let out a sad laugh. "I was surprised you didn't get a role."

"Well, I guess musicals are more of Sam's thing."

"You think?" He shrugged. "So, um, Quinn came and talked with me last week."

"Quinn talked to you? Like actually talked?"

"Yeah."

"What about?"

"Us."

"What about us?"
