Chapter 6

3 months later

    Betty sobs, pacing back and forth in the girl's bathroom. "I'm going to be sick," she says shakily.
    "It's going to be fine, let's just go back out to the common room, we'll check after school, okay?" Toni says, hugging Betty.
    Betty nods, walking out to the common room where Jughead, Cheryl, Fangs, Kevin, Reggie and Veronica are all sitting on the couches. Betty sits down next to Jughead and Toni sits next to Cheryl. Betty groans, resting her head in Jughead's lap.
    "Are you okay?" He asks, playing with her hair.
    Betty stands up, walking back to the bathroom, "I'm going to throw up."
    Jughead gets up, following her into the bathroom. He sits on the floor behind her, holding back her hair as she vomits. Betty sits back against the stall.
    "Betty, what's going on?"
    Betty shakes her head, hiding her face in her hands.
    "Come here," he says softly, pulling her into his chest. "What's going on?"
    "I think I'm...I think I'm pregnant."
    Jughead sighs, kissing her head, "is it mine?"
    "I don't know."
    "So you were..."
    "Only before you. I haven't been with anyone in a while."
    "Even if you were it's not my business. We aren't together."
    "I'm scared, Jug. My parents will kill me."
    "Everything will be okay. We'll figure this out."
    "We?"
    "Even if we aren't together and it might not be my kid, I'll help you and support you through everything."
    "Thank you."
    "So if you are...will you keep it?"
    "I don't know. It's so confusing. Everything."
    "Do you have a test?"
    "Yeah, I have two."
    "How about you take them now, and-"
    "What's going on, are you okay, Bee?" Veronica asks, walking into the bathroom.
    "I've got this, Veronica," Jughead says.
    "Okay, Bee, tell me later."
    Veronica leaves and Jughead continues his sentence, "take them now so we know. If you are, we can leave now, I'll take you to pops and we can talk about what to do, okay?"
    Betty nods, grabbing her purse from next to her. Jughead leaves her alone in the stall. A few minutes pass and Betty lets him back in. They sit on the floor silently before the timer goes off. Betty takes a deep breath before flipping over the tests.
    "Negative," she smiles.
    Jughead smiles, "negative?"
    "Negative," she laughs, hugging him.
    "Well, I can take you to the doctor after school and we can see why you're sick."
    "Thank you," she says and he helps her off of the floor.
    "Do you want some gum?"
    "Yeah, that would be great."
    He pulls a piece of gum out of his pocket, passing it to Betty, who unwraps it and pops it in her mouth. Jughead puts an arm around Betty, pulling her close to him, connecting their lips.
    "Minty," he smiles, kissing her again.
    Betty giggles, "We should get back before people get suspicious."
    He nods, kissing her one more time. "Betty, can we talk about us?"
    "Right now?"
    "I mean, maybe. I was thinking about maybe later, but if now is a good time."
    "Yeah, uh, sure. Now works."
    "Betty, I really like you. I know you want to be single right now, but I want to be with you. Maybe one day you can move into my apartment or something. I just, I really, really want to be with you."
    "Jug, soon. I just," she takes a deep breath, "need to experience one more thing before I'm ready to be in a relationship."
    "Do I want to know?"
    "I...I actually don't know."
    "Usually it would be just a no, why is it not?"
    "Well, uh, I want to be with a girl."
    Jughead raises his eyebrows, "Oh, wow."
    "Yeah, is that a problem?"
    "No, as long as you come back to me," he rests his hand on her cheek.
    Betty smiles, "of course I will."
    "When do you think..."
    "I don't know."
    Jughead nods, "well, you have my number," he smiles slightly, leaving the bathroom.
    Betty takes a deep breath, putting the tests back in her purse. She goes back out to the couch and sits next to Jughead, noticing the way Toni and Cheryl are obviously flirting. She smiles at them before turning her attention to her phone.

Are you okay?

She reads a message from Veronica.

Yeah, I'm going to the doctor after school to see why I've been throwing up.

Are you pregnant?
 
No, I took two tests, both were negative

Ok

    Betty looks up at Veronica and smiles. Jughead looks in between the two, curiously, but his thoughts are interrupted when the bell rings.
