Chapter 3:
“Alex? You're home?” Charlotte shouted from downstairs.
“Yeah!” I shouted back, rubbing my eyes while getting out of bed. I looked at the clock to see the time.
“Wow! It's already 6. I gotta get ready” I spoke to myself.
“Did you have fun at school to day?” Charlotte asked again.
“Yeah! Lots of fun! I made some friends and we're going to the movie tonight. Is that okay?” I shouted, grabbing my phone to check for messages and went to the bathroom to take a shower.
“Sure! But be home by 11.” Charlotte said.
“Thanks!”
There was a message from Cathy, my cousin who lived in New York. Her mother was Charlotte's best friend.
“Hey!!! How was ur 1st day at school? - Cath”
I quickly texted back. “It's okay. I survived and made some friends and met some cute guys.” I took a quick shower and washed my hair. Then got out with a towel around my waist.
My phone beeped. I checked it while using a hairdryer to dry my hair.
“Oooohh! Tell me everything! Are they hot? Who are they?” I could imagine her squeaking as she texted that.
“I'll tell you later. I have to get ready because I'm going to the movie with the new friends. And yes, they're hot. One is a quarterback, I assumed, and one is a sweetheart from Math class.” I texted back and combed my hair.
I searched for some nice cloth in my closet.
Hmm... What should I wear? I thought to myself.
After thinking for awhile I decided to wear a green V-neck sweater, a pair of jeans with a pair of green sneakers.
Well, I looked decent.
My phoned beeped again so I grabbed to check it, again.
“Eeekk! Two boys fighting over a boy. What a fantasy! So, when are you going to tell your parents about your 'situation'?”
I thought for awhile and texted. “Oh please! They are straight, I think. Well, I'm not sure about the sweetheart but the quarterback, he was as straight as a pole. And.... he wasn't the nicest person in the world so... not my type. And about telling my parents about my 'situation'. Never. I'm kidding... but not now. I mean... things have just been settle down and I don't wanna think to much about that.”
Phew! That text was kinda long, wasn't it?
I looked at the time. It was 6:54.
Damien is going to be here any minute. I thought.
So I grabbed my wallet, making sure that I had brought a lot of money, and jumped downstairs. Who knows how these popular kids spend their money! I just didn't want to be embarrassed.
Charlotte was making a quick dinner for her and Dave. After dinner, they will watch some movies together and then go to bed, just like they always do. I knew them to well. They WERE like my second mom and dad.
“You want something to eat?” Charlotte turned to me and raised her eyebrows.
“Nah! I'll pass.” I answered, taking an apple from the fridge and brought it to my mouth to take a bite when somebody honked outside our house. We both turned to the door.
“I guess my friends are here.” I said, putting the apple back into the fridge.
“Well, Have fun!” She said, giving me a hug.
