Alex's POV:

I literally hit the alarm clock as it beeped persistently. I rubbed my eyes and got out of the bed. I yawned as I stepped into the bathroom to take a quick shower. While I was taking a shower I brushed my teeth. After that I put on my contact lenses and just stared at my own reflection inside the mirror.

I was a decent looking guy, in fact, a cute guy. I mean, that's what people said. I wasn't fat. I wasn't thin. I wasn't short, nor tall. I was average. Although I am an Asian, my hair is brown. Well, because I dyed it. My parents never liked it when I used toxic chemical to change the color of my hair. But I wasn't bothered.

I sighed.

I sighed because despite the fact that everybody thought that I am normal, I'm not. I'm gay. I'm frickin' GAY and nobody knows about that. And I have no intention telling anybody about that. The only person who knew I'm gay was my cousin. I told her as soon as I found out, which is when I was 13. And thank God she didn't hate me. It was hard for me and her to talk to each other because, back then, she was living in the US with her mom and I was still living with my parents in Vietnam. And yes, I am Vietnamese. Some people kinda hate, I don't know, disgust Vietnamese for some reason but I don't blame them. Vietnamese are kinda "tricky" and they do have some "bad habits". Well, I know I don't... I hope so.

There were some noise downstairs and I suddenly remembered something.

"Oh right! It's first day at the new school." I spoke to myself and hit my head. I totally forgot about that. I was lost in thoughts.

"Breakfast's ready!" Charlotte shouted from downstairs.

"I'll be right down!" I shouted back, quickly combed my wet hair and ran out of the shower with a towel around my hips. I got into my room and put on a pair of black skinny jeans and a white V-neck tee with a blue cardigan. I quickly put on my shoes and ran downstairs.

"Good morning, 'angels'!" she said, wiggling her eyebrow.

"Good morning, Charlie!" I replied and we both laughed at our joke as I sat down at our dining table. She put down a plate of bacons and eggs in front of my face. "Thank you!"

"How did you sleep last night?" She asked , giving me a glass of milk. I reached out my hand to take it and answered her question: "I slept really well, thank you."

I started to eat my breakfast as she gave me some toasts and started asking again: "So... Are you nervous about the first day at the new school?"

"Yeah... Kinda. I hope nothing bad is going to happen. I do not want to get into any troubles." I replied.

"Well, I hope you'll make a lot of friends." she said as she caressed my hair. "Wow! I can still remember my high school years." She continued, looking up at the ceiling, and I looked at her. "It was hell." she looked at me and we both laughed.

"Good morning!" Dave said as he walked into the kitchen.

"Good morning!" Charlotte and I said in unison. Dave kissed Charlotte's cheeks and they both looked at me.

"Oh! I've never got the chance to say thank you but I really appreciate that you two let me stay here in your house." I said, looking at them with a smile.

"Aw! You're welcome, sweetie. I mean, your parents did pay us to look after you and I'm your aunt's best friend. And... we really like you. You're like a nephew we never had so even if your parents didn't pay us, we would still let you stay here with us." Charlotte said as she rubbed my head. I looked at her gratefully and then looked at Dave, her husband.
