The following day I told Pony but she swore not to tell Monoma.
"So, what are you gonna do now?"
"I don't know" I groaned, my face going into my hands.
The winter dance was coming up and the stress of assembling everything, school work and now this was all too much.
"What are you guys talking about, not the blue guy again" Monoma said sarcasticly
"His name is Tenya and we were talking about the winter dance" lying under my breathe
"Anyways, do you guys know who your taking?" quickly changing the subject
"I'm gonna ask Kendo after school, how about you Pony?"
"I wish Manga would ask me fufu" she cried quite loudly
You could tell Manga heard because his black cheeks turn red.
"(Y/N)?" asked Pony
"I don't know, might go alone. I gotta perform and I don't want to leave someone on the dance floor"
"Your telling me that the blue one still haven't asked you yet?"
I whacked him like Kendo and said
"Stop calling him the blue one!"
"Geez for being a nerd you would think he'll be smarter then that"
"If you mock him one more time"
"If you like him so much why don't you just ask him yourself"
I grew quiet. To this Pony clapped once and said
"Ok subject change--Monoma, favorite country"
"Huh, WE CAN'T JUST CHANGE THE SUBJECT LIKE THAT!?"
"COUNTRY NOW!"
"...france"
Pony sat back down satisfied that she won the argument and I laughed.
Later that week me and the other class presidents were assembling the party. Pretty fairy and christmas lights lined the walls, a snow machine that would've made it actually seem like christmas and not to mention the big unassembled christmas tree that would've reached the roof of the gym.
One of the third years asked for me and Tenya to bring some boxes out from the indoor warehouse. I jumped at any opportunity to get closer to Tenya so of course I agreed.
Once we stepped inside the dark space we heard the doors shut. At first we were confused and even thought that it could've been another attack but then we heard snickering followed by shushing. The doors were locked and we were getting pranked.
"I guess we're stuck here until they get us out"
"There has to be a way out, we can't just stay here"
"Why not"
He grew silent looking for a response
"We're wasting time"
I sighed
"Listen, Tenya I'm sorry I made you leave, I didn't mean too"
"That doesn't matter now, let's just try to get out of this warehouse"
"Tenya, I'm...I--"
I walked up to him and right when I was gonna confess I saw Yaoyorozu opened the doors.
"I'm so sorry! I didn't know the third years would do this, I was doing something else--again I'm so sorry"
Tenya grabbed the boxes, avoiding eye contact and said
"Don't worry about it Momo, can you help us carry in some of these boxes"
The next day I went to the dorms to find "the secret project" they were working on. Through the chaos I didn't even realize it was my birthday so when everybody came together to throw me a party I was pleasantly surprised.
What made me even more happy was Tenya finally talking to me.
"Happy birthday (Y/N)"
He said with the biggest grin. I haven't seen his smile in so long.
"Sorry I've been avoiding you, I just didn't want to ruin anything"
I should've known he was just looking out for me. That day I felt ecstatic.
The cake from Sato, the hugs from Iida. It couldn't be more perfect.
