The beast bared her teeth and gave a mighty roar, hoping to hide the fear that enveloped it. The cave had fell silent. You could only hear sound of the wobbly breaths of cloud drifting from the beast's nostrils. No one dared to move until the chief, with a sharpened blade and a toughened face, roared back, "You are no match for our tribe! Surrender now and give us our reward," he gestured to the beast's long, elegant fur. He gripped onto his spear even tighter—he too was afraid. The creature could not speak but only stare into the dark flamed eyes of the chief with her own frosted blue ones and give a small whimper. They could never understand her loss, her grief, her sadness. The tribespeople would only ever run up from the village with their weapons and taunt her mindlessly with repetitive chants, "Kill! Kill! Kill!" Over and over again.
So, as the cycle continues, the beast shrugged at the chief's words and solemnly pondered back deeper into her habitat, leaving the people at the entrance disappointed. It seemed to be that no matter how hard she tried she would only be feared more and more. The tribespeople made sure of that. They would sing songs and tell tales of the beast upon the mountain, about her long devil-like horns and spotted silver coat. The beast was able to watch them sing their songs as the flames of the campfire burned brightly below and the night grew darker and darker. Where the beast lived there were no songs or tales, at least not anymore. The friends she had lost and watch die before her, only ever being able to see them as scattered stars above.
She had many names, but whatever they called her, she would always be known as the Beast that haunts the Mountain and nothing more.

A/N: Hello! It's been a while since I've published something, but I'm back! This story may seem a little different to the others I've wrote on here, but I think it's pretty decent. I'm happy to hear your thoughts and any constructive criticism. Thank you and have a good morning/afternoon/night! :]
