Chapter Thirteen

Clarissa's pov.

I stepped out of the shower and felt lighter.

'That was disgusting' I thought as I started towel drying off.

A few minutes later I was toweled off, with damp hair.

With no other clothes to change into, I got into my old ones and opened the bathroom door. I looked both ways down the hall and didn't see Zach, so I figured he had fallen asleep on the couch. I creeped into his room and was greeted with a surprise.

On the bed was a folded up pair of pajamas on a made bad with a new bedspread and new sheets.

I walked over to the bed and lifted up the pajamas. They were fuzzy and black with green and pink owls on them. A large grey t-shirt lay under them. I smiled to myself and closed the door.

I stripped back down and slipped on the pjs.

After I finished dressing, I opened the door and walked down the hall, looking for Zach.

At the end of the hall, I saw the tv was on. I looked over to the couch and saw Zach sleeping.

He had a bag of chips to one side and a bottle of water on the other side. A blanket was halfway on his lap. The tv was on and turned down low.

Not sure what to do, I whispered his name.

"Zach?"

His eyes flew open and swept across the room. Then he looked over to where I was.

"Oh, Clarissa, hi. I was just watchin' some tv... then fell asleep. Sorry. What's up?"

I held back a giggle. "Thanks for the pajamas."

"Oh, you're welcome."

Silence stood between us.

"What ya watchin'?" I asked.

He looked at the tv.

"I don't know. You wanna watch something?"

"Sure," I replied and walked over to the couch.

He set the bottle of water on the ground so I could sit next to him.

I sat down and cuddled next to him, with my legs folded against me. He wrapped an arm around me and set the blanket on my lap. While I laid the blanket on both of us, he flipped through the channels.

"NCIS, Blue Bloods, Criminal Minds, Castle, Psych. What would you like to watch?"

No knowing what any of those where about, I chose Castle.

He got to that channel, set the remote down and pulled me closer. I rested my head on his shoulder and he laid his head on mine.

"Zach?" I said a few minutes later during a commercial.

"Hmm?"

I sighed. "Thank you."

"Of course."

The commercial ended and got back to the show and slowly I fell asleep.
