Zach's pov.
I watched Jessica drive away with Clarissa in the little tan Saturn.
I walked into the coffee shop. It looked like any normal day, and I'm sure it was.
Miranda waved at me as she served some coffee to a man at the bar.
I walked over to her. "Yeah?"
"Will you... uh... take the garbage out?"
"Sure," I replied, somewhat suspicious of her.
I emptied out the garbage and took it to the dumpster out back. I went back in and washed my hands.
"Hey sorry about that," Miranda said behind me. "Kenzie was here and I figured you didn't want to talk to her."
"Oh thanks," I said,"I'm lots more willing to take out the trash than to talk to that bi-," I stopped myself short.
"Heh heh, sorry," I apologized.
"It's okay, she is a female dog," she said as she walked away.
I smiled to myself and got to work.
"Oh yeah," Miranda turned around,"BTW she'll probably be back. She asked for you when she first got here."
I sighed and nodded, hoping she wouldn't be back.
Four hours later, at about 12:30, she was back.
Miranda and I, were both not too busy.
"Do you want me to take it?" Miranda asked.
I sighed. "No. I want her to know that what we had is over."
"Way to be a man," she said as I walked over to Kenzie.
"Oh, hey Zach," Kenzie purred as I walked over to her.
"Kenzie," I said, flatly.
"Where's that new loser girl who works here?"
It took all I had, not slap her.
"She's not her right now and she's not a loser."
She laughed. "We both know she's a loser. You don't have feelings for her do you?"
"I do, thank you very much. And it's nothing I've felt before."
"We both know that's not true. You don't have feelings for her, you have feelings for me."
She stood up, standing inches away from me.
"We both know you want this." She gestured to both if us.
"No. You want-" I was cut off.
Kenzie was kissing me.
A customer walked in.
I pulled away from Kenzie, surprised she would do that and I was full of rage.
I looked at the customer.
But it wasn't a customer.
It was Clarissa.
She had tears in her eyes. She shook her head and fled through the door.
Tears threaten to form in my eyes.
I looked at Kenzie.
"Oh my. This is awkward," she said in her sickly, sweet voice.
Only then did I realize the room was silent and everyone was looking at us.
Even more raged filled me.
