Keith's PoV

"So..." the very tall lady hummed seductively. "You're my daughter's boyfriend."

"Not anymore, ma'am." I said.

"That's okay." She said as she threw a mic at me and I caught it. "I wanted to battle someone who has lasted this long, surprisingly."

I smirked at her. Finally, some competition.

"You really gotta watch who you're battling, ma'am." I said, confidently.

"I like you." She said, pointing at me with her long fingernails. "Fine, let's have some fun."

Pico's PoV

Finally, that slow poke Darnell drove to where I'm at.

"Why are you at the end of the town?" He asked after rolling down the window.

"Let's go, drive forward." I said, getting in shotgun and getting a shotgun.

"You're looking for Keith?" He asked.

"Yeah dude. He got snatched by a limo, they're making him a stripper." I said.

Darnell sighed and faced palmed. "I got out of my shift for this. I thought we're doing something more important of an emergency."

"Look, I know that it's a limo but Christ dude. My boyfriend has been kidnapped." I said.

"You don't need to worry, look." Darnell took out his phone and showed me a live video of Keith in a rap battle. "He is safe."

"Still a kidnap." I said.

"He'll come back dude. It's not like they're going anywhere. That hot retired popstar chick just wants battles to be extra." Darnell said.

"Why would she battle him anyway?"

"Think about it. She might want a last battle with her daughter's ex to know what made him win her in the first place."

"Very logical answer but I want to pick Keith up. That lady might threaten him into go back with that Cherry."

Darnell rolled his eyes and sighed. "So much for my shift." He said and started to drive.

Keith's PoV

After the performance the far finally stopped and park on the side. I jumped off the car and so does everyone else.

"Cherry, your mom is so cool." I said.

I offered to help her go down her usual spot.

She chuckled, shaking off the dust from her beautiful red dress.

"She is." Cherry said with a proud smile.

"It's good that I still can have competition even though it's all over." I said.

Cherry smiled then look at what's behind me. Of course I wanted to know.

"Oh, Pico!" I beamed, running to him and giving him a hug.

"Ouf- Hi, Keith." He greeted back, hugging me after.

""Thank you for driving me here, Darnell."" Darnell muttered angrily.

"Sorry for not calling you or something. I hope you weren't too worried." I said, un-hugging him.

He shrugged and scratched his cheek. "Not really."

He looked up and his eyes widen. I noticed the shadow on him so I turned around and raise my head too.

It's Cherry's mom.

"Little boy, are you going home?" She said sadly.

"Sorry, ma'am. I have to go back with my life." I said.

"Isn't this your life?" She asked.

I kept quiet. I do love rapping but at the same time...

"Not anymore." Pico interjected.

"Aww is this your cute little boyfriend?" She said, bending down to his level.

I smiled and nodded proudly.

"Alright then. I will miss you though." She said, putting a hand on my shoulder.

She slipped something in my pocket. "It's special." She said, walking away.

I put my hand in my pocket and held on to the item she slipped.

It's a piece of paper.

I noticed in the car's reflection that I have an intimidating face so I turned around.

"Let's go back home. Oh, and Darnell. Thanks for driving." I said.

He chuckled and fake coughed. "No problem, man. No need to thank me."

As we're walking at the car, I turned my head to where Cherry is.

She looks really sad.

Cherry's POV

I waved at Keith and they drove off.

"Mom." I walked where my mom is. She's talking to the dancers.

She turned around with the same confident and intimidating look.

"Yes, sweetheart?" She said, dismissing the dancers by waving her hand to shoo them off.

"Can't we leave Keith alone?"

"Sweetie, you like that boy. And like I said, no one turns against you." She held her chest and wept dramatically. "I can't believe someone would turn down someone as perfect as you."

I've been known as perfect my whole life and... I believe her.

But I'm trying my best not to mind it.

"If he's still competing, he's still your boyfriend." She said. "I'll lure him into competitions thinking we're doing this just for fun, but my sweetcheeks, we're doing this for you."

Mom held my cheek and looked into my eyes. "I know how you love seeing him compete. I'm making you happy."

I love seeing him compete because it makes me think that he still cares about me. But... Isn't this wrong?
