You get home eventually and see that you have 12 new messages from Marcus. You ignore him because you're still angry at him. "Mom? I guess she went to work." You hear a knock on the door, and see that it's Marcus, but before you can close it, Marcus stops you. "I really hurt your feelings, I'm such an asshole, your friendship means everything to me." Marcus says while looking at his feet. Then he glances at you waiting for a response. "Marcus, why do you keep ditching me?" "You would always move everything out of the way just so you can hang out with me." I said. "I'm really sorry." There was silence for a while but then out of no where, Marcus looks at you and kisses you on the cheek. Your heart starts beating like crazy. "What was that for?" "I have my reasons." "Cya at school y/n." Marcus salutes and winks at you before leaving and getting on his motorcycle.

The next day you go to school and see that Marcus is talking to Ginny, you try to eavesdrop on their conversation, "Hey y/n!" said Maxine. "MAX! You scared me!!" "What are you even doing?" "Are you stalking my brother?" "What? No. Ew, gross." Maxine looks you in the eye and can tell that you're lying. "Ok, fine, but I need to tell you something."
"You're scaring me..." said Max. "You know how Marcus and I were supposed to hang out last night?" "Yeah?" "Well, he ditched me, AGAIN." "That little bit-" said Max. "Well, I got angry at him because you know, he ditched me a SECOND time, and then he went to my house and started apologizing and next thing you know he kissed me on the cheek." "And please don't get angry at me Max." I said. "I'm not." "Really?" "The kiss was unexpected, plus you are one of best friends, and I know you wouldn't hook up with my brother." "Ah, you know me so well Max. You're the best." "I know." You and Max laugh and then you go to class.

At lunch, you sit across from Ginny who seems happy. Usually at lunch she complains about the food here. "What's got you so excited?" "What-? Oh nothing." said Ginny while looking down at her food. You whisper, "is it because Hunter looks like he has a crush on you?" "Hunter has a crush on me?" "Well, I'm not completely sure, but the way he looks at you seems like he does." Ginny's eyes glow up as you said that. "My birthday is coming up." said Ginny. "Oh my gosh, really?" said Max. "I never had an official birthday..." Hunter approaches Ginny "Hey, Ginny." "Oh, hey Hunter." "I was wondering if maybe you could go on date with me?" "Oh uh, sure!" "You two will look so cute together." said Norah. Ginny blushes then the bell rings and you wave at everyone and then head off to class.

The school day ends and you head home and see your Mom making dinner. "Dinner smells good." I said. "Are you staying home for dinner?" asked Mom. "Yeah, Marcus and I aren't hanging out tonight." "That's odd, why not?" "I have a lot of homework today anyway." "Okay dinner's ready!" You and your Mom eat dinner and then you head upstairs to do your homework. You get a call from Marcus. You pick up, "Hello?" "It's good to hear your voice." Marcus says on the phone call. "Can we hangout?.." There was silence for a while then you finally speak up. "I don't think that's a good idea." "Plus I have a ton of homework to do, sorry." you hang up. And start to think whether or not you just made a mistake, an hour later, you finish your homework, you felt bad for Marcus so you decide to go over to his place. You get on your bike and eventually arrive there.

You knock on the door and Maxine answers, "Oh hey y/n, wasn't expecting you here tonight." "I need to talk to Marcus." "Oh, he's upstairs in bedroom." "You can come in." You go upstairs and open Marcus' door. "Can't you knock first Ma-" "y/n? what are you doing here?" Marcus says as he gets up from his bed. You sit down on Marcus' bed with him and start having a conversation about old memories with him. "Remember that one time, at the diner, you laughed so hard water came out of your nose?" You said while laughing. "Do not remind me of that day." You continue talking about funny memories, "My stomach hurts from all that laughing." I said "My head hurts from all those embarrassing moments." said Marcus. Marcus looks you in eye for a while and leans in for a kiss, but you stop him. As much as you like Marcus, you can't risk your relationship with Max for Marcus. "You don't want to kiss me?..." "I do." "Then why can't we?" "Because of Max, you two are the most important people in my life and I don't want to risk my relationship with Max, she doesn't want any of her friends hooking up with brother."

"I get it." says Marcus. "You're a good friend to Max." he kisses your knuckles and you try to not to blush. "It's getting late, I should get going." I said. "See you at school." I said with a smile. You head on home to get ready for bed. You eventually fall asleep...
