Taehyung's pov

Days later, Jungkook and I decided to actually take a step forward and go on a date. A simple one, in a cat cafe a few blocks away from my home.

I recommended it since he told me he's allergic to dogs when we passed one on the street and he covered his nose. It's been a while since I last went to that cafe so I hope he will like it. I was waiting for the bus at the bus station near the high school.

When the bus arrived I entered it and saw Jungkook sitting in the very back of the bus. He didn't seem to notice me, having his eyes closed and his head tilted on the window. Tiring day? Oh, trust me, I understand.

I sat down next to him and saw the uncomfortable position he was in. I hesitantly lifted my hand and laid his head on my shoulder. He shifted in a more comfortable position and I smiled.

I only woke him up when I saw we were close to the station we had to get off at:

"Jungkook" I lifted his head off my shoulder and held his face in front of me. "Jungkook wake up, we're almost there" I said and pinched his cheeks.

His eyes fluttered open and suddenly we weren't in a bus, it was just me and him staring at each other. Instead of leaning in like I wanted to, I ruffled his hair and smiled at him before getting up. We had to get off.

"Why didn't you wake me up when you got on the bus?" he asked, fixing his messy hair.

"You looked peaceful like that. I didn't mind." I shrugged and looked away. Then I spotted the café and I took Jungkook's hand to drag him there. We stopped in front of the door.

He looked at me, my vision exploding in colors. "How are you feeling? About this, about today.." he asked. My eyes were focusing on the door in front of me as I spoke:

"Great! I'm glad I'm the one introducing you to this." I pointed at the café. One was my answer, another were my thoughts: If you don't like it what will I say? What if you get bored and things get awkward? I'm nervous. Excited, but nervous.

But my face didn't betray even the slightest hint of what my thoughts were. So we entered the café and first thing I noticed was the sweet smell of coffee. I don't drink coffee but I admit the smell of it is comforting in some way.

But I'm not here for myself, I'm here for Jungkook. So I turned and stared at him while he looked around, stunned. In that moment I noticed the slight spark in his eyes, the way his hold tightened on my hand, but not in a scared way, which let relief wash over me.

And I looked at his face, taking every detail in like it's the last time I see him. That was, until I felt a tug at my ankle, which made me look down to see a kitten. I smiled and crouched down to hold it in my arms.

Jungkook's pov

When we entered the café I was hit with a stunning, colorful view. There were cats. Well, lots of cats, obviously. I knew Taehyung was staring at me and I was glad he did. This café was small and cozy, and it felt almost like a home someone would always want to come back to.

Then I saw the monochromatic version of it. Not that cozy anymore but I could still feel the warmth.

I looked next to me but then I had to lower my eyes to see Taehyung who was playing with a kitten. The one that I saw approaching us when we entered.

I let him enjoy this too, while I noticed how he scrunches his nose when he's happy. But then he looked up at me so I looked away, flustered.

Taehyung's pov

I stood up and grabbed Jungkook's hand, dragging him to a table near the wall right where the most cats were laying around. I checked to see if the orange cat I had played with earlier was following too.

This wasn't just for Jungkook. This was for the both of us. And the cats. It's always for the cats.
