dusk till dawn

gone are those simple sunshine days,
when we lived to feel the sun's embrace,
when our untamed spirits belonged to Earth,
the type of joy that cannot be replaced;

let's try and give the nights a chance,
little silver moon against inky dark,
bleeding the sunlight we've brushed aside,
tranquility at last, lighting a spark;

let's grab the wisps of a chilly breeze,
since we have lost the caress of warmth,
a gentle reprieve from this lawless world,
are worth the cool kisses on our tired forms;

let's marvel at the stars up high,
those distant crystals sparkling above,
an ethereal painting of infinite gems,
holding our dreams, wishes, and delicate love;

let's fill this quiet atmosphere,
with deep breaths and divine words,
for too long, our rib cages have been a prison,
exhales trapped like fluttering birds;

we share our truth until morning comes,
when the blushing sun starts to rise and fawn,
we've laid our souls bare for the world to see,
and we will do it again, every dusk till dawn.

inhale the peace and exhale the pain
