(Continuation of last part that got deleted.)
I sat with my head in my hand as I played with my food. Everyone kept talking about Capture the Flag and it was starting to get aggravating. A few random people came to ask me what my tactic was and how I knew it would work. I didn't, I just trusted myself. "I still can't believe you shot me that fast," I looked at Will who was looking at me proudly. I looked at the paint splatter on his clothes and noticed I had hit him on his heart.
"Shot him? We haven't heard about that." Christina waved around her fork as she looked from me to Will. I shrugged and looked back down.
"Yeah, she turned around, not even fully and brought her arm up, just to shoot me. Caught my chest next to my heart." He patted at the paint with a smile. Christina looked at me and went to ask something before noticing my bored look.
"Can we see the flag again? I'm pretty sure Al hasn't seen." Al shook his head. I grabbed the flag from my pocket and placed it onto the table a little too hard. I ignored the confused looks and went back to my food. I wasn't even planning on eating. I hated that I had grabbed that flag, sure it was good to win, but afterwards it just went away. Eric tried to talk to me on the train, he wanted to talk about what I had done. He went to sit down but by the time he sat, I was standing and on the other side of the carriage.
I felt a slight nudge at my leg making me look at Four. I raised an eyebrow as I noticed his furrowed brows. He nodded towards me as if to ask I was okay, I really wasn't. I waved him off and looked back at my food. My appetite was completely spoiled. "Hey," I looked up at Tris, " Can I talk to you?" I stood up, nodding. Throwing my food out and following her.
Four's PoV
I climbed down from the top of the Ferris Wheel with Tris following after. I had to give her recognition for the plan, it was very clever but it did waste a lot of time. "What happened to the flag?" I looked over everybody to see no one having a paint splatter. Will handed me the flag and pointed to the trees in the marsh.
"Someone shot from up there." Who would've thought of that? The same plan Tris had except they had a gun.
"If I'm scared I push it away and convince myself I'm not."
I handed Will the flag back, ordering him to put it at the top of the carousel. Even if Y/n came after the flag, she wouldn't reach it. Not without the guards noticing first. "Do you know who it was?" I looked at Tris who seemed flustered. I raised an eyebrow before smirking.
"Y/n." Her eyes widened as she looked towards the tree.
"She's scared of heights, she wouldn't climb that. Plus she's not that good of a shot to hit the middle of a moving flag." I shook my head as we all started advancing towards where Eric and his team were situated.
"She's scared of falling. She is also the top of the class, she doesn't keep that from fighting." Tris looked down at her feet and began to mumble to herself. My ear twitched as I heard trees rustling. I spun around and aimed my gun before shooting. We all waited for a few moments before deciding no one was there.
"You two sure have gotten close," I peered at Christina with a questioning look. Me and who? "You and Y/n," She said it as if it was obvious. "I'm just saying, you two hang out a lot."
"We have good chats." I explained simply. I'm sure Tris tensed but it was too dark to tell for sure. I watched as Tris and Christina ran after the flag, leaving all of us to distract the rest. I ducked down behind a tree when I saw Eric advance towards me. I looked at everyone fighting, Uriah hits a girl causing her to throw her gun in a tantrum. I peaked out just to hide again as a paintball went past my face. I waited for Eric's gun to start clicking before jumping out and shooting him. I shot him twice for good measure.
