"When you go through darkness, don't become afraid of the monster you become."
Elizabeth Decker,
I was a killer.
Weren't you already? You killed him. And you liked it.
My mind messed with me. I looked in the mirror I looked beaten bruised. I didn't recognise the woman in the mirror she enjoyed the brief rush of death. I came here to change the world, was that selfish to be the one who wants to change the world?
The police were outside the bathroom door, waiting for me. I came here to collect information not join the mafia.
I took a deep breath. Your not a killer your a good person, Val is a killer, Salvador is a killer, Ace is a killer. Although I might have saved Salvador from dying, it was only to have him behind bars for the rest of his life, death would have been a mercy and i am not a merciful person.
I opened the door.
"My name is agent Elizabeth Decker and I have been held hostage at the El drago mafia." I said standing tall, you came for a mission, you finish it and walk away. Valarie doesn't mean anything she isn't worth your life none of these people are worth your life Elizabeth.
They took me to a conference room the wall was made of glass that shows you outside, people walking about their day getting coffee, we been assured that no one can see through the glass.
The head of the agency came down with multiple men and woman set up in the room, typing away at their laptops.
"Start from the beginning." Agent Adler said as I went on record to say everything that happened.
"We will put a tracker and a mic in your necklace they are both waterproof do not lose it, it is our only way of knowing you are alive, if we don't receive anything after 48 hours we will presume you are dead." Chills went done my spine as I noticed a man in a suit fitting Alessio's description the same jet black hair, his face was covered by a large hat, he was smoking a cigar, I stood up keeping my eyes locked on the look alike.
I turned around and ran towards the hospital exit. I ran towards the where the window faced, looked past the coffee cart where he was standing, it was like he disappeared into thin air. I looked around for anyone who wore anything similar to him. I saw someone in a black suit walking away quickly, I began running towards them.
"ALESSIO! STOP! HEY STOP!" I shouted shoving past people as I gained on him, but he walked away faster, I jumped on him, pushing him to fall to the floor he turned around and it wasn't Alessio.
"HEY! what the hell lady?" He said as I just sat there on the floor, I felt guilt.
"I-i wrong person sorry." A few agents stood a few feet away from me giving me doubtful looks.
I wanted it to be Alessio. Not because the great chase could go on. Or because I wanted him behind bars and the world a better place, because crazy killer Alessio understood me, he understood my darkness.
"You have to get back, your friend is waking up." One of the men said as I finally got up from the middle of the path as people gave me looks.
---
"Sal...?" I whispered as he looked away from me.
"Call Nico and tell him to come pick me up." He simply said. His voice cracked at the end as I took a small step into his room.
"I- i dont have his number." I whispered. That got him to turn around and look at me, his eyes were red and his cheeks were stained with tears. He had been crying. He wrote down a number and handed the paper to me.
"Ask for C4. A m16, and smoke grenades, and a motorbike." He stated and I must have looked confused.
"Val is in trouble." He said, my heart ached for him. I walked towards him and wrapped my arms around him softly, he stiffened at my touch but I held on to him, eventually he leaned, burying his head into my shoulder, as I felt his tears soak through my blood stained shirt.
"I-I had a daughter, I had a wife, a family. I HAD IT ALL!" He screamed in pain as I teared up as his sobs of agony and sadness.
"I lost fucking everything, I lost it all, I lost my damn brother. What else is there to take from me. You should have let me die Beth." He choked out in muffles through his sobs. I stroked his black hair holding him tightly.
"No, no you have so much left to live for, you have to see Alessio's legacy through, your wife, she wants to see you become the man she once fell in love with." I whispered.
"I see her everyday, its so fucking hard Beth, I see her everyday!" He screamed out.
"Look at me Sal, your going to be fucking okay, she is with you, watching over you, protecting you, we honour the dead and we walk with them in hell, I promise you, when the time is right you will see her eventually." I promised.
"But for now we need to get Val, the living needs you Sal." I whispered holding him as his sobs eventually stopped. This was a very private moment, we formed a bond me and him. No one can ever know.
