By the time you're near the middle of the city, the sun has just set across the horizon, casting a beautiful, yet ominous red glow across the city. You and the boys decide to make a camp in the sturdiest looking building around, which isn't saying much, the structure still looks as if the big bad wolf could blow the whole thing down with a barely a huff and a puff.

Once you and the Gladers set down your supplies, you all decide to explore the area in the hopes of restocking some of the supplies.

Echoing and bouncing off the walls of the building, a beautifully haunting sound fills your ears. A woman, singing in a deep melodic voice.

"Rain rain, go away, please come back another day. Rain rain, go away, please come back another day."

You glance around at the boys to see if they hear it too. You turn to see them wide eyed in fear as the sound fills the building. You start to follow the haunted sound, drawn by curiosity and the beautiful voice.

"Rain rain, go away, please come back another day..."

You don't even think to check and see if the boys were following you. You move as if in a trance towards the cruelly lovely sound.

"Rain rain go away, please come back another day."

You cautiously step into a room as the sound grows louder.

"Rain rain go away please come back another day... Rain rain go away, please come back another day."

"Y/n!" Minho calls out, "What are you doing, come back!" He urges, grabbing your wrist. You shake him off, your mind numb to anything but the woman's eerie voice.

Further and further you walk into the dark room, entranced by the sound, your heart racing inside your chest. The boys shuffle quietly behind you, whispering harshly, begging you to turn back, but you can't. You're drawn by the voice, unable to break free from its pull.

"Rain rain, go away, please come back another day."

Finally you find the source. A woman, curled up in a ball, rocking back and forth as she stares off into the emptiness of the dark room.

She sings, "Rain rain go away, please come back another day."

You creep as close to her as you dare,

"Hello?" You ask.

"Rain rain, GO AWAY, please come back another day."

Without thinking you inch closer, crouching down directly in front of the woman.

"Hello? Are you ok?" You ask again, your voice shaking with fear and anticipation.

Your heart freezes, the woman's pale white eyes slowly drift upward until they lock on yours.

"Y/n, we should get out of here, come on." Newt says forcefully behind you, fear shaking his voice.

You barely hear as word as the woman starts to sing again, her haunting voice creating a cacophony as it bounces off the walls.

"Rain rain, GO AWAY! Please come back another day." The woman rising slowly to her feet, repeating the song yet again,

"Rain rain GO AWAY! Please come back another day." The woman emphasizes 'go away', trying to tell you to leave, but you can't, some mixture of terror and curiosity holds you in place.

Fear creeps up into your throat as you stand up tall, in order to be at eye level with the woman once again. You don't back off as she leans in close to you, her face as close to yours as it can get without touching it.

Behind you, the muffled voices of the boys whisper harshly, begging you to turn back, calling your name, saying anything to try and get your attention.

But your mind is filled only with the sound of the woman's voice, blocking out all other sounds making the boy's desperate calls ineffectual.

"Rain rain GO AWAY!!!! Please come back another day." The woman takes another step towards you, practically pushing you backward. You continue to stand your ground, moving backward only so that her face does not touch yours.

It's obvious she's trying to tell you something. Yet fear threatens to take over your mind as your instincts tell you to turn back and run. Deep down you know you have to stay put, despite the danger you're in. You need all the information you can get to make it out of the Scorch alive.

"GO AWAY, GO AWAY. GO AWAY!" She screams, her breath cold as it passes across you face. You force yourself to hold your stomach as nausea starts to bubble up inside of you from the rancid smell of the woman's breath.

Slowly, she continues forward, pushing you further and further backward, as you are unable to run or turn away.

Your back hits the wall.

Your heart freezes in terror as the woman continues to advance, her face now right on top yours, mere centimeters away.

"RAIN RAIN. RAIN RAIN!" She stops inches from your face, spitting the words at you.

"What about the rain?" You question your voice shaking horribly with fear.

Without warning, her deathly cold hands fly up to the sides of your face, her boney fingers pressing hard into all the tender parts of your skull.

"The rain... fear the rain..." She whispers, her voice trembling with intensity.
