Sonic P.O.V.
"Hi, Sonic!" Silver yelled as he waved at me from across the gym. I ran up to him and hugged him.
"Hey, Silv!"
"How's you doing with your boyfriend?" Silver asked, and I blushed.
"We're not-" I was cut off by Shadow.
"We're doing fine, thank you."
I only blushed more as he said that.
"Hell-o, I'm Sonic's friend, Silver!" The hedgehog introduced himself to Shadow, who only nodded.
"So, how are you doing with Blaze?" I asked, and winced when he squealed like a 9 year old.
"Oh, she's amazing! She's just so nice, and caring, and beautiful..." Silver rambled.
"You're not so bad, either." Blaze said, walking up behind him. She was a few inches taller than him, since Silver was on the shorter side of our grade, just like me.
"For a straight guy, maybe." Shadow mumbled loud enough for us to hear him. I laughed, glad he could crack a joke in front of other people.
"Actually, that's not totally true." Silver started, and I raised an eyebrow. He went on. "See, cause I was binging Panic at the Disco music videos again last night and i thought, 'Uhh, why is Brendon Urie hot?' and then I realized, 'Oh wow I'm actually bi' so yeah."
I nodded slowly and said after a few seconds, "Good for you, I guess."
Blaze then took Silver's hand and motioned him over to the dance floor. "Okay well that's all bye have a fun night!" Silver said as he was quickly whisked off, giggling. I noticed that Shadow was glaring at him as he walked away.
"Why are you friends will him?" He asked when Silver was out of earshot, which wasn't far, considering how loud the gym was.
"Is somebody jealous~?" I said with a childish voice, but Shadow's expression didn't change.
"No, that hedgehog is just an idiot. Though, I can see why you would." He said, mumbling the last part, but I could still hear. I scoffed.
"Okay, then. Hey, why don't we-"
"Sonic!!!" I was interrupted by a shrilly voice, and I knew immediately who it was.
Amy ran up to me and hugged me from behind.
"Ooh, Sonic, I'm soooo glad you came! I almost thought you had blew me off!" She shrieked, and this time I could see Shadow glaring with pure jealously. I turned around and got her off me.
"Amy, you're not my date." I said.
"Well, of course I am, silly! Who else would be?" She said, probably intentionally oblivious to the hedgehog behind me. Still, I walked up to him and put my arms around his shoulders.
"Why, this lovely fellow, of course." I said with a touch of sarcasm. Shadow glared at me.
"What are you talking about?" He said.
"Shadow, you're my date to prom." I said, deadpan.
"No, I'm not." Shadow said, turning to Amy. "I think he may have gone crazy."
At this point, I realized his joke and laughed. Amy just sat there, confused out of her mind.
"No, yeah, I'm his date, were dating, were gay." Shadow said with no hint of joke in his voice. Amy stood very still for a long time, and I started to worry.
"Amy, are you okay?" I asked.
"You're gay?" She asked, almost silently. I didn't say anything, just nodded softly.
