Sonic P.O.V.

Wednesday afternoon. Two days until the Prom. Me and Silver were at the mall trying out all different types of tuxedos. Silver was going through rack after rack, trying to find the perfect one.

"I still can't believe I'm actually going to the Prom with Shadow." I ventured.

"I knew you would, Sonic. You're a cool dude." Silver replied, walking over to me with a tuxedo in his hand.

"You should get this one, Sonic, it compliments your fur!" Silver said while holding the dark blue tux. I tried it on and looked in the mirror.

"Eh, I was kind of thing something more traditional. I-I mean, does it even matter?" Silver's jaw dropped.

"Does it even matter? Does it even matter?! DOES IT EVEN MATTER?!!" I wonder as Silver yelled in my face.

"Beauty. Dear. Darling." He continued, grabbing my shoulders. "Please, as your best friend, let me help you dress. You will kill yourself alone."

"Isn't that what you're already doing?"

"Not when you keep declining every session I make!" Silver had a point there.

"Okay, you can keep looking," I said, taking the tux off. "I'm gonna go get Starbucks. You want anything?"

"Ooh, can you get me a chocolate milk?" Silver said, his tone suddenly sweet and kind. I snickered,

"Sure thing, bro."

As I was walking to the food court, i passed Shadow sitting at one of the tables and drinking a coffee.

"Oh. Y-you're here." I said akwardly.

"Course." He said without even looking at me. "It's Prom outfit day. I'd never pass up a pickpocketing arena this large." I could only hope he was joking.

"O-okay. Um, im just gonna... go now." I said, slowly backing away from him and heading to the Starbucks nearby.

"Dude, that was a joke."

"Yeah, I gathered that." I said without stopping.

"Hey, wait." Shadow said, grabbing my hand. I turned back to look at him.

"Would you, maybe want to hang out after you get done shopping with Silver?" I smiled a bit.

"Sure, that be great. Wait, how did you know I was with Silver?" But Shadow was already turning away.

"Wait, Shadow!"

"Meet me at DQ, 3:00." Was all he said before teleporting away.

I was irritated, but them smiled. He's pretty cute when he tries to act cool. I blushed at that thought. I checked my phone for the time. 1:50.

I came back to Silver with my latte and his *sigh* chocolate milk, took a long sip of his drink, then proceeded to yell at me.

"Dude! What took you so long?" He asked.

"Uhh, I had a run-in with Shadow, and I'm gonna be meeting him at 3." I said. Silver's mood instantly changed again.

"Ooh~ First date, I see." I blushed madly when he said that.

"No! Not like that. It's just... like, a hangout with friends."

"Okay, then. Well, I've already picked a tux, and you're going to need to pick one too before your 'hang out with friends.'" He said using, quotes for the last part. I laughed and said okay, and tried to pass the time before 3.

When 3:00 rolled around, Silver left, I went to the Dairy Queen near the outside of the mall. Sure enough, Shadow was there, his eyes closed in concentration. I sat town next of him at the table and said hello. Shadow waited a few seconds, unfazed, then looked at me and finally said,

"Y'know, it's kind of like we're in a Romeo and Juliet situation."

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"My father would most definitely not be fond of me if he knew I was gay, and you're convinced that your mother wouldn't be either, if she found out you were. So, just like Romeo and Juliet, we are in love in a way that our parents don't accept." He said. I thought about that.

"Oh yeah, I guess you're right."

"And then they die." He mused.

"What?!"

"I'm just kidding, geez." He thought for a moment. "Well, not about Romeo and Juliet. They actually die."

"Oh my god, Shadow. You read the weirdest things." I chuckled and covered my face with my hand.

"It's literally one of the most famous stories in the English language."

"Whatever." I said. I passed, and then looked concisely around the mall.

"What are you looking at?"

"I guess I'm afraid that-"

"People are looking at us?" Shadow finished my sentence. "It's totally fine. We're just two bros chillin' at the mall."

"Yeah, I guess so." I chuckled out. We talked and laughed for a bit more, and the time flew by.

At one point Shadow took out his phone and checked the time.

"Aw crap, I said I'd be home by 5. I gotta go." He said.

"Oh, okay. See you at school tomorrow." I said. Shadow them quickly kissed my cheek and said goodbye and he did WHAT!?! I felt my face heat up as my mouth slowly upturned into a giddy smile. I could still feel the kiss all the way home.

Hey fam(y'know, the, like, 20 people who read this), sorry it's been so long, but I've been really busy and i just haven't been feeling like updating, but I will now. I didn't really want to do this chapter because it was sort of a filler chapter, but hey! Their first kiss! Well, kind of. I actually have this whole story already planned out in my head, so now it's just a matter of getting it down. Also, sorry it's kind of short, but it's a filler chapter, so whatayougonnado?
