Their new classmate is being praised by everyone else in this place. Despite Misako having this pretty privilege, she showed them how she can be a talented and powerful sorcerer as well. Misako is not even raised in a prestigious clan for having unique cursed technique.
Umi just watched how this occurrence folded right through her eyes. She told herself not to worry about anything like this, but she wanted to be that girl so bad. Her mind started to compare herself to Misako. It is killing her slowly.
Ah, I'm sick of this. Why does this jealousy have to follow after me?
Because of that, Umi always kept herself distant from her classmates and didn't want to feel any of that again. She wanted to protect herself, not to override these feelings consuming her.
"Kioko-chan!" Misako called her as she walked towards Umi right now. She is sitting on the branches of the tree, wondering how Misako knew she was here.
Please, leave me alone.
"What is it?" Umi asked nonchalantly.
"Let's go out with our seniors!" Misako mentioned that Umi arched her brow upon knowing that they will go out with their seniors. Well, the idea was great after a long day of completing their missions.
"You guys can go without me." Umi decided as she shifted her position on the branch, and didn't gaze down on her classmate. Misako didn't respond and walked away from this tree. She was relieved that she would have free time by herself.
Umi was about to sigh deeply when someone just kicked the tree strongly, enough for her to almost fall from the tree. What the hell? She managed to stay there still and furrowed her brows as she looked down. They were all here, wearing casual clothes.
"Go out with us, or you will end up dying here?" Satoru threatened her.
"I would have ended up dying here." Umi politely answered him, sounding like she really wanted to die. Satoru kicked the tree once again, trying to make her fall from the tree.
"Wrong! You will go out with us!"
"I said I don't—?!" Her sentence was cut off when Satoru succeeded in making her fall from the tree. She yelped in surprise and closed her eyes, wishing someone would catch her from the fall.
And Kento caught her instantly, holding her shoulder and knees firmly. Everyone coughed loudly, which made Umi flutter her eyes open and saw Kento of all people. He looked so compelled right now. Satoru planned this, didn't they?
She didn't move for a moment, wanting to stay next to the colors for longer. Her eyes dazed by how slightly bright the colors he was wearing now. She hopelessly loved it. Umi reluctantly tugged his sleeves, telling him silently to put her down while Kento was aware of what she was trying to say. He put her down cautiously and stepped backward.
"Alright. I'll go with you all." Umi sighed in resignation. Everyone except Kento cheered in unison. Well, she really wanted to go out with them. She was just consumed by catastrophic thinking these days, so she acted distant from everyone.
Going to her room, Umi wore a sweater, a pair of jeans, and shoes. She also tied her hair into a lower ponytail and looked at her reflection in the mirror. Perhaps she was already good, but too bad she can't even see herself with colors.
"Kioko?" Kento called her as he knocked at her door and entered the room when she allowed him to come in. He stayed beside the door and leaned against the wall, his eyes glancing at her appearance. "Are you ready?" He asked, his voice was calm and deep.
