The peaceful silence I was once sat in had disappeared when Chris came running back into the room. Kai shifted from my side seeing the urgent look plastered over the other mans face.

"We uh...Kai we have a phone call" Chris stared at Kai, forgetting to blink. Both men turned to look at me then back at each other.

"We'll be back in a second Astrid" Kai said to me, his expression looking more serious than I've ever seen.

I gave a reassuring smile to them before they sped off. It can't be good if they both looked like that right? I mean Chris looked frantic and Kai...well Kai was definitely unsettled.

I watched as they left the room, leaving me alone. One thought came shooting to my mind. 'Should I try escape?' Now would be my perfect chance but... I don't exactly want to leave. I feel so intrigued with the situation going on. Technically, yes I was kidnapped but it doesn't feel that way anymore. It feels like being taken on this 'trip' is to help me. I mean, I've never felt so alive! Besides, escaping into the city wouldn't help me at all since I would have no way of getting back to my sector.

A muffled voice pulled me out of my thoughts. Someone was shouting. At what? Has something went wrong? or is Chris just being his usual self? I couldn't help myself but be a bit nosy. I crept up towards the back of the room where the men had earlier left from. As I made my way over to the exit, the voice became clearer.

"I DONT CARE CHRIS!" Kai screamed. I couldn't help myself but move closer. "How the hell did they even know I was here?! I vanished remember?? And for good reason!"

"I know Kai but...orders are orders. Should we tell them abou-"

"NO! Don't you even dare. If they find out who she actually is then god knows what will happen."

'She'? Are they talking about me? Who am I actually? because at this point, I don't even know.

"Kai. You can't just keep going the way you are. You have a job."

"Yes well, my job is supposed to be about the truth. Yet, someone is clearly lying. Everyone's a liar Chris! Why can't I trust anyone anymore."

"Kid, you have me. I wouldn't lie and you know that I have your back through all of this. You make the decision and I'll be by your side all the way."

"Well, I know that I need to protect the truth. So that's what I'll do. But I can't tell As-" Kai stopped talking when a deafening noise came from outside.

I whipped around to look where the sound had came from. Suddenly, the door opened behind me and I fell into a pissed off Kai. I jumped away from him, my face heating up as I knew I had been caught eavesdropping. Kai gave me a stern look before hurrying off. Chris hurried out the room not long after. As he sped past me he grabbed my arm to follow in his direction.

Chris dragged me though many different corridors not saying a word. Though, he didn't need to tell me anything for me to know we were not in a good position. I had lost sight of Kai after he ran off a few minutes before hand. I searched around the different corridors seeing if I could see him through the darkness but I had no luck.

The long, grey corridors filled my eyes. Every corner looking the same. Chris used a torch to be able to see the floor in front of him. His grip tightened more and more as time went on. I was being dragged through corridors for about five minutes before we stopped. Chris' eyes darted around before he reached for a key in his back pocket and opened a door in front of us. His hands were slightly shaking.

Even though Chris seems to work with Kai, I don't think he has seen much action. Or maybe if he has, he has never really gotten used to it. By the looks of things, Chris is simply just the supplier. He knows about computers, gun makes, grenade types and seems to be pretty good at fighting formations and things like that. But I remember, before I showed off my shooting skills, he tried demonstrating how to shoot. He barely hit the target in his first couple shots. So this situation is clearly not his strong point.

"Quickly, take this!" Chris pressed a gun against my chest, pulling my attention back to the situation at hand.

I jumped slightly when gun shots were finally heard in the distance. My eyes shot around the room before landing back on Chris, searching for some answers.

"Kai will explain later. Run down this hall and turn right. You will end up outside the building. Kai took the supplies you guys needed and is waiting in the car. That's where he will pick you up"

"You're not coming with us?"

"Someones gotta lead em' off your tracks" Chris winked at me. I could only stare at him. I really don't want anything to happen to him. He is a great guy after all.

"Astrid. I will be fine, I am fully trained for this stuff remember? I may not be the best agent out there but I'm not clueless" I nod in return and slowly turn away from Chris.

"Oh! Astrid!" Chris yelled at me before I disappeared around the corner. "Don't trust anyone but Kai. Not even your friends"

But before I could respond, Chris had already ran back in the direction we came. A small part of myself told me to run after him but I couldn't disregard his orders.

Don't trust my friends? They couldn't possibly know anything. I don't even know anything never mind them! What the hell is Chris talking about... I can only trust Kai...

I swiftly turned on my feet and ran in the direction I was told, gripping the gun in my hands. I have never actually shot anyone before; I never needed too. I'd like to tell myself that I would be fine with shooting someone but I don't know what it's like to have that type of blood on my hands.

My legs begin to ache from the constant exercise I have been put through today. The burning grew all the way up my body, motivating me to run faster so I could eventually sit down.

Shoving the door open, I sprinted out of the building and started searching for Kai's car. Beaming headlights flicker on in front of my eyes, pretty much blinding me. I cover my eyes with one hand and start running towards the car, hoping Kai is the driver.

As I make make my way towards the passengers seat of the car, I sigh with relief when I see the driver is, in fact, Kai. I hurriedly open the door and sit in the cold car. He looks at me with what seems to be a relieved look and starts driving away. We both sit in silence as Kai speeds down a lonely road.

We had been driving for around twenty minutes before I turned and looked at the piles of things stocked in the back seats of the car. I then turn again to look at Kai. He looks at me and soon catches on to my questioned look.

"That's our stuff" He stated.

"Our stuff? Would you like to elaborate or am I gunna stick with this guessing game we've got going"

"Guns, clothes, water." He sighed without taking his eyes from the road. Is he still pissed because I eavesdropped or is he upset about Chris?

I decide to ask "Are yo-"

"We're here." Kai interrupted and left the car.
