I find myself staring much longer than I intended. I think he started to blush.
His face was perfectly shaped with an outstanding jaw line - not too hard, not too soft.
He had thick, dark brown hair. Short on the sides, long on the top. In certain lighting you'd think it was black. His hair is naturally curly, but he obviously doesn't do anything with his hair after he wakes up. It works though.
His wild eyebrows match his hair. They're not too big nor small. Yet, they complement his face massively.
His slightly slanted, green eyes glow with a hint of gold when the sun hits them. His eyes and natural tan giving away his foreign inheritance.
His lips were exquisitely placed on his face, slightly parted as he looked at me.
He's dreamy in a way.
I'm practically drooling, what the hell am I doing.
Sure, this guy, Kai, is attractive but he still hasn't told me where the hell we're going. And I, quite frankly, don't trust him whatsoever.
"Let's make a deal" Kai said abruptly,
"I need to pick up a few things, so I'll be stopping at a nearby gas station. It'll look weird if you're tied down, obviously. So, I'm going to untie you. Only if you agree not to scream or draw any unwanted attention to us."
"And what exactly will I get out of this? A candy bar?" A smirk crawling over my face. I'm going to make this guy's life a living hell. He will simply give me up by the end of this all.
"I'll answer any questions you're bound to have. And yes, dear you can have a chocolate bar" The same playful look grew on his face
"And what if I decide to run?"
"You won't get far, trust me. We're in the middle of nowhere"
I glance outside my window to realise that we are surrounded by sand and... more sand. He's not lying.
This guy doesn't exactly look or sound like he has any intention of hurting me but, that definitely doesn't mean I trust him in any way. I'm sort of cornered, aren't I? But still, let's see how well he can last when we're playing my game.
"Buy me some new clothes as well. I hate sitting in jeans for hours" I demand while staring over at Kai.
He turns over to face me, but his boring, cold expression never leaves his face. "Deal".
————————
Eventually we pulled up to some old gas station in the middle of nowhere. I mean, why are these things all the way out here? Hardly anyone drives this far away from society. At least I didn't think they did. Yet here I am.
Kai took one more questionable look at me before getting out the car. It's amusing how much he doesn't trust me. How ironic! The guy who kidnapped me is the one with trust issues.
A smile starts dancing over my face as I realise how much power I really hold.
Kai then approached the other side of the car where I was sitting. He gave me one more 'please don't fuck this up' look before opening my door.
He immediately leant over my body to start untying the rope that was knotted around my arms and legs.
There was an awkward presence as our body's moved closer together. I was stiff and to what I could tell, Kai was too.
As my hands were realised, I grabbed my wrists. I would have thought the rope would have left a mark but I mustn't of been tied down long enough.
Kai took a couple steps backwards before throwing his hand in his pocket "Here, use this to buy whatever you need then come straight back to the car and wait for me. I won't be long" Kai handed over a couple cash notes.
"Where are you going?" I asked out of genuine curiosity
"Taking care of some business" Kai said whilst turning on his heels to walk towards the other side of the gas station.
I shrugged it off as I began walking towards the station.
My eyes squinted as I walked into the bright light of the gas station. Out of old habits I immediately took a mental note on my surroundings. Two security cameras, one person at the till, five different isles within the shop and no other customers apart from myself. That I can see of, that is.
I picked out a pair of black gym leggings and a baggy grey hoodie, I might as well be comfortable if I'm going to be stuck in that stuffy car for a while. I then grabbed a bottle of water and a sandwich.
After paying at the counter, I made my way over to the toilets to get changed. They were utterly disgusting but I wasn't exactly expecting any less.
I folded my older clothes and was about the leave when I heard muffled voices outside the door. Something about 'having no other choice' and 'delaying the job'. I shook my head at being so nosy. I hate when people listen in to my conversations, yet I do it myself. Not cool Ash...not cool.
As I finally opened the door, I noticed two shadows shift in the darkness. It was pretty dark outside, and the bathrooms are located in a super sketchy area around the back of the station. Shivers ran through my body, not only from the cold, but from fear as well.
Not taking a look back, I practically ran over to the car.
I must have been waiting 20 minutes for Kai until I noticed a moping figure walking towards me in the distance.
