"I'm gonna go shower real quick okay?" George heard from across the room as Dream peaked his head in."Yep that's fine but hurry up I swear you take up 3/4 of the water bill." George giggled.
"Oh come on."
With that, the shower turned on and you could hear the gentle shuffling going on in the bathroom.
As soon as the water was heard, George thought:
Take two?
And he swiftly hopped off the bed and bolted across the room. He stood on his tippy toes to reach the same, black bag that's been the main topic of most of their conversations for the past few hours (from that small 'incident' that happened the day before where he was holding onto it for dear life).
He grabbed onto a random strap he felt and yanked it, a little too hard, making it fall onto the floor with a loud, unintended, crash.
Oh shit.
He heard the shower head turn off and a long silence before Dream shouted across the house, "George.... what was that?... are you okay?"
"Ye- yes I'm okay I just... fell off the bed" George said, laughing it off.
"If you say so. I'll be out in like 2 minutes anyways."
"Oh. Okay."
>>>>>>
Okay I only have 2 minutes if only I was more careful oh my God.
He was nervous, what was so important in this bag that he won't share with his bestfriend? George knew he shouldn't go through his stuff but interest was devouring him from the inside. So, he gave in.
He slowly unzipped the bag and the first thing that caught his eye was something smooth and white...
What the?
He pulled it out and what he saw shook him to the bones. It was a mask, the same mask that he saw that one night in the dark alleyway. The same creepy, menacing, smile staring back at him.
George was speechless, his tongue was tied and he couldn't move. He was frozen in place trying to process what happened, but his mind was also blank and couldn't comprehend anything. Was that actually THE mask?
What snapped him back to reality, was the deafening footsteps that were getting closer and closer. Echoing through the silent rooms and corridors. With every step, George got gradually more and more horrified.
What the fuck am I going to do? RUN
In the last second possible he finally got up, picking the bag up with him, and ran back to the shelf throwing the bag over his head for it to land back in its spot. In what felt like too late, turned out to be perfect timing. Dream walks in, right after George manages to somewhat compose himself by standing in the most awkward position possible with his hands behind his back, just smiling nervously at the door.
Dream however looked no where near as stiff as George. In fact, he walked in with only a towel around his waist exposing his defined abs and v-line. His hair was soaked and still trickling water droplets onto his flushed cheeks and body. It was a never before seen by George scene. The view would've been SO tempting to George but in that time and place, he didn't even seem to notice, which almost confused Dream. In a normal scenario, that image would've definitely re-appearing in George's daily day-dreams. Shame he missed it when it was there.
"Umm... you okay?" Broke the silence. "You look a little tense did you hit the floor too hard?" Dream chuckles and leans on the door frame crossing his arms.
"Yeahhhhh I just hit the floor really hard and you scared me a bit haha." George loosens up a little bit trying so hard to swallow down all his overwhelming emotions.
"Are you sure... you look kinda pale and extremely unsettled, I'm worried." Dream replies with a serious tone now.
"Yes I said I'm fine now let's just sleep okay I'm tired." George replied in a angry voice which he didn't intent on doing, but atleast it shut him up a bit.
Silence.
"Um. Okay if you want. But I'm always here if you want to talk about something." Dream replies softly and they go to sleep.
But George couldn't sleep. Of course he couldn't. Not after that.
Everything flooded back as soon as the silence hit him. He loved Dream but why, how, is he the same guy he saw that one time. Surely not right?
Coincidence?
