Being dragged down in the icy river was quite irritating.

Wen Lan cursed his wonderful luck while struggling to break free from the creature. As it couldn't kill or absorb him, the Ghost King could wait until that stupid ghost got bored and let him go... if only, Ju Xin wasn't still on the surface with those bastards.

Another way was to release his powers and wipe the ghost off from three realms, but it required a lot of political trivia. If Wen Lan released his powers, the entire area would shine in blue and Nan Han had to come so that they could have a trial. As the Ghost King of Xin didn't have that much spare time and he didn't want to deal with Nan Han, explaining to him why he was in his territory, he tried to come up with a better idea, which refused to come to his mind.

Luckily, Wen Lan didn't have to think too much because help was already on the way. After the second plop sound, a golden aura illuminated the dark water as Ju Xin swam towards him. Although the situation was dire, Wen Lan couldn't help but feel touched.

Interestingly when the ghost felt the heavenly aura no matter how much it was restricted, it didn't attempt to run away. It was indeed a strange creature; he neither cared about Wen Lan's kingly aura nor Ju Xin's heavenly aura. Not only it didn't run away but he also wanted to attack Ju Xin!

Feeling the creature's grip getting loose, Wen Lan reversed the position; now he was holding the agile creature back. Thanks to the excessive orange aura emitting from the ghost, Ju Xin managed to see the happenings clearly. He took out a yellow talisman and stuck it to the ghost. It helped to reduce the energy of the evil thing but only a bit.

They needed a good plan immediately, otherwise Wen Lan had to sacrifice everything and reveal himself to save Ju Xin.

Then the second miracle happened.

Another plop sound and a silver katana split the water behind Ju Xin. Given the silver aura dissipating from it, it was obvious that it belonged to a deity. As there was no time to wonder who that deity was or why he/she sent help, Wen Lan pushed the creature away from Ju Xin as powerful as he could, and swam towards the katana. Grabbing it, Wen Lan got behind Ju Xin, pressing it into Ju Xin's hand with a wonderful idea in his mind.

When the evil ghost came to its senses, he moved toward Ju Xin with an impossible speed. As Wen Lan concealed the heavenly aura of the katana with his dark aura, the creature failed to notice it and attacked Ju Xin care-free. It was what Wen Lan wanted. When the ghost got close enough, he stabbed the creature on the talisman via Ju Xin's hand so that he wouldn't have to deal with Nan Han. The combination of the energies of Ju Xin's, talisman's, the katana's and Wen Lan's (who used a very small amount of it not to reveal his identity) exterminated the evil creature and the katana disappeared.

Although all of these happenings occurred very fast, Ju Xin was still a half-human like, so after staying underwater for a while, he felt faint due to lack of oxygen. His limbs slackened as his consciousness slipped, but his body didn't sink as a strong arm embraced his waist, pulling him onto the surface fast.

Breaking onto the surface, Wen Lan saw that they were still in the middle of the river while those bastards were paddling towards their town. Overwhelmed with anger, Wen Lan released a myriad of blue leaves and hauled the boats back. The boatmen screamed in horror as there was nothing they could do.

When the boats were in front of them, Wen Lan jumped out of the water with Ju Xin in his arms and landed on the closest boat, making water splash with the huge force. Not paying any attention to the scared men, Wen Lan put Ju Xin onto the wooden surface carefully. He was about to help him to come back to life, but the boatman itched for his trouble and tried to attack Wen Lan with the paddle.
