Zhu Shen kept shifting her gaze between Ju Xin and Lei Gong with an apparent curiosity. As she set an alarm for Ju Xin's Heavenly aura after he disappeared ten years ago, the moment his aura was activated, she knew his location. What she didn't expect was to find Lei Gong with him. In order to understand the situation, she brought both of them to Ling Xiao Bao Dian.

"So, care to explain the situation?" Zhu Shen asked, crossing her legs.

Lei Gong looked at Ju Xin who was sitting on a chair like a broken doll and took the words, "I found him in the forest with Lan Ye by accident," he lied smoothly, hoping Ju Xin wasn't listening.

"With the Ghost King of Xin? The one who challenged him ten years ago?" Zhu Shen asked with suspicion.

Lei Gong nodded while Ju Xin was tongue-tied.

"Is it true, Ju Xin?" she asked, arching her eyebrows. She could feel that it would be a loooooong day.

No answer.

"Did he kidnap you?"

No answer.

"Were you willing?

No answer.

"Where were you during those ten years?"

No answer.

Zhu Shen sighed in defeat, apparently Ju Xin wasn't in the mood to talk. All he was doing was sitting like a lifeless body, staring forward blankly.

"Let's call it a day, we will talk later, but until that time, you two are forbidden to leave your palaces."

"Wait, I didn't do anything wrong," Lei Gong objected and for the first time Ju Xin reacted.

Zhu Shen clearly saw disgust in his eyes as he stared at Lei Gong. So, her instincts were correct, Lei Gong had a finger in the happenings. "Are you questioning my decision?" she asked coldly.

"N-No," Lei Gong lowered his head and left the room hastily.

"You have to tell me what happened, sooner or later," she patted Ju Xin's back, who in turn bowed his head and left the room as well.

Ju Xin lay down on the mattress, thinking about the happenings. It all felt so surreal... There were only two people he trusted during those ten years and they turned out to be his biggest enemies. Well, Wen Lan couldn't be counted as the biggest enemy since Ju Xin had ruined his life four times, if not five. Even when he learnt that Wen Lan played with him like a cat playing with a mouse, he had no suspicion about his words being true. He saw how much suffering he was bearing when he told him about his lives, but he couldn't understand why Wen Lan was so nice towards him. Without a doubt, he was the biggest enemy of Wen Lan, but he treated him so well, even saving his life twice. What could be his motive?

He also wondered if he was really that cruel in his previous lives. For sure, he knew why he did what he did in his last life as a king, but the other two were beyond his knowledge. He didn't want to believe that he was a betrayer, but Wen Lan was claiming him to be one, so he wasn't sure in that aspect as well.

Sighing heavily, he rubbed his face with his palms. No matter what, he couldn't bring himself neither to blame Wen Lan nor to hate him. Unfortunately, he knew what he felt for Wen Lan was a bit beyond a mere friendship, and the awareness only contributed to his misery.

On the other hand, it wasn't hard to get angry at Lei Gong as he was just a greedy and sly deity. Ju Xin wondered how he managed to be reincarnated as a deity with that rotten heart of his. Still, Ju Xin didn't want to deal with him, so he was ready to forget what he had done.
