9. Stung

Again you were working with the med-jack once again, trying to keep to yourself so you didn't slip up about dreaming about Thomas before he even came into the maze. Your leg was about healed, Jeff said about two days and it should be completely healed and you'd be able to run again.

Newt would have Thomas working on the garden today, so all you had to do was avoid that part of the glade. Simple enough, though you knew you wouldn't e able to avoid the Greenie forever considering you were the only girl and he was bound to have some questions about that. He did ask a lot of questions.

"Hey, Y/N. You alright, you've been oddly quiet today" Clint walked over to you, his voice grabbing your attention. You turned to him and sent him a small smile, trying to come up with an excuse for your quietness.

"Oh, uh just have a weird feeling about today, that's all" He nodded and walked away to go help Jeff with whatever he needed. You hadn't really lied though, you were having a bad feeling about today. Ever since you had woken up if felt like something bad was going to happen to someone. Although you figured it was just going to be one of the slicers, as it usually was.

"HEY!" Your head shot up at the sudden yelling "HELP! HELP!" You dropped the cloth you were folding and ran outside, followed by Clint and Jeff. "I'll kill you!" Your eyes widened when you saw Ben on top of Thomas, hands wrapped around his neck.

"Hey!" Newts voice caught Ben's attention and he looked up only to get hit in the head by one of the tools that Newt was using. You ran up and helped Thomas to his feet. "Hold him down" Three boys were restraining Ben, while he was thrashing around trying to get free. "What are you doing?" Newt had a worried yet serious look on he face when he looked up at you.

"What happened Thomas?" You shifted your attention away from Ben to look at him. Thomas looked genuinely terrified, his wrist was bleeding from Ben's nails digging in and a few bruises from falling over.

"He just attacked me!" You looked over at Alby who seemed to suddenly realize what was happening, he took a step forward but stopped when Ben's eyes suddenly snapped to look over at you and Thomas.

"YOU! Stay away from her. YOU DID THIS, GET HER AWAY FROM HIM" Ben began fighting once again, it was no use though. Everyone's attention was now on you and Thomas, you didn't really care though. Something was wrong with Ben and you really hoped it wasn't what you though it was.

"Alright lift his shirt" Alby commanded and New obligated, everyone went dead silent other then Bens pleas of 'no' and light struggle on the grass. "No! no! please no" Bens pleas brought slight tears to your eyes. He was a really good friends and though you had heard about the changing you had never seen it before now.

"Hes been stung" Gally's voice broke the silence. "In the middle of the day?" Everyone shared the same look on their faces, all except Thomas who just seemed scared and confused. Ben looked in pain and you hated that.

"Help me, please!" Ben looked up al Alby who had a blank stare, one he wore when he talked about the boys that had died in the past, it was a wall so no one could see what he was actually feeling and thinking. "Please, please"

"Put him in the pit" Albys voice was lowered and harsh. A small nod from Gally to Newt and they began to try and get him up. "NO!" Ben was thrashing around again, trying to escape the gladers grips on his arms and legs.

"Med-jacks" Newt waved Jeff over to help him get Ben into the air. "Please don't" You watched as they picked Ben into the air, a few people trying to get him to calm down but it wasn't any use. His fight was useless though.

"He did this!" You clenched your jaw was you watched him carry Ben away "Please stop, please help me!" You sighed, turned away from the crowd of boys carrying Ben away and directed it at Thomas you looked over at you.
