I had never told anyone about my hogwarts letter. Ma had written back with the owl that they sent, telling the school that I was going to Uagadou. I had said I didn't want to go back to Britain and leave Ma by herself. Larry lived next door, we were really close, even before school. He had told me about Uagadou and that he was going there. It wasn't much of a decision then, I hadn't needed to think much. Living here was everything. I hadn't seen my dad in over 8 years, I didn't really miss him. I could barely remember him. But I didn't really tell people about my British roots. It just wasn't something I wanted to share.

Even now, I haven't really told many people about why I'm leaving. They just know I wasn't coming back next year. Word has spread that I'm leaving and a group have signed a card for me. Even a few of my, how do I put this, ex-friends? They had signed it. Whatever way I may describe them, they were still nice enough to say goodbye, despite our... differences of opinion.

"So I'm doing this then."

"Yep. You're leaving me forever, however will I manage without you to throw books at me?"

I playfully slap Larry on the arm, "Hey, tell me my legacy won't just be me hitting you with books."

"Of course not." he smiles, the pulls me in for a hug, "I'll always be here if you need me."

"I know. You won't go forgetting me or ignoring my letters?"

"I won't if you don't."

"Right no sappy stuff, I don't want everyone's last memory of me being my tears."

"Yeah, yeah. I'll miss you though."

"Same."

So this is it. I stand in the office, with a trunk that contains all of my belongings. My clothes, school work, books, letters, my life all in there. All shrunk with a bit of magic of course. The McGonagall lady was back and she's standing next to me. Rodriguez says something about keeping safe and working hard and what not but all I could think of is that I am now leaving everything behind.

This is the start of my new school, a new me, a new life.

Then the British Professor reaches out and touches the top of the stained bottle on the table in front of me. She says something about keeping in touch, then looks at me, motioning for me to touch the bottle. I reach out, taking a look at Rodriguez, and he nods. I turn back to the bottle and then immediately it happens.

There is a jerk and the office disappears in a swirl of colour. I try to get a firmer grip on the bottle but I can't seem to move my hand. My fore finger is stuck on to the neck of the bottle, and it feels like someone is trying to pull my finger away from my hand, like some magnetic force was connecting the tip to the glass. We twist and turn, my body being pulled this way and that. A wind, sudden and strong whips around me, I feel like I'm in the middle of a hurricane. Then as suddenly as it started, it ends and I feel myself dropping.

McGonagall gracefully lands beside me, smoothing down her robes as I try not to fall flat on my face. I'm in an alleyway, it's quite dark. It's raining too. At the end of the tunnel-like bin area, I can see a few people moving around, muggles by the looks of them, head down. None of them even notice the alleyway is here.

"Everything alright, Miss Warren?" I still find her accent weird. Do all people here speak like that?

"Yes, thanks."

"Good then, welcome to London."

She sets off towards what looks like some sort of shopping center.
