"How the hell did you deal with that for however many years?"

"I honestly don't know, look, let's just get away from here before we start talking, alright?" She looks around and the place Number 12 stood a few moments ago. The house had vanished again, but I wonder how well they could see us from in there.

"Fine." I let her pull me back behind some bushes then linked my arm in hers before we apparated.

I swallow down reflux, steady myself and I open my eyes to see that I'm in front of a small cottage type house, concealed from outsiders by a glade of trees. Through the trees I could see a sign in the distance but I couldn't make out what it read. As Andromeda leads me towards the house, we pass a young apple tree in the front garden with a swing hanging from it. It all looks very picturesque, with the dappled light and birds chirping and a warm summer breeze.

Andromeda knocked on the door.

"Hello?" a male voice calls.

"700214."

"Andromeda-" The door opens slightly, but then closes slightly again. "Who is this?"

"Ted, it's only Ebony. You know, long lost cousin. We're good, she just needs somewhere to calm down for a bit."

"Oh, ok, sorry."

I try a smile at him as he opens the door for us to pass. He has curly fair hair and caring brown eyes, and when he smiles back, his eyes smile too.

Before we get more than two steps into the house, a bundle of bright pink hair runs into the room, throwing itself at Andromeda. Andromeda bends down and picks it up, to reveal a it's girl that I can only assume is Nymphadora.

"Hello Mummy!"

"Hello, Dora. How's she been?" she asks Ted.

"Great. Been practicing hair colour." Ted replies, grinning. "Look, hey Dora, can you do blue?"

Dora scrunches up her nose a bit and all of a sudden, a wave of blue washes through her hair, turning it from neon pink to electric blue.

"Good girl!" Andromeda says, cuddling her daughter. Dora then turns to look at me, cocking her head to the side. Then, with another little scrunch her hair turns the same shiny black as mine, even growing it out to hang in the exact same way as mine around her small shoulders.

"Don't worry, that's just what she does when she meets new people. She a metamorphmagus."

"A metamorphawhatus?"

"It means she can change her appearance at will, basically."

"Right..."

"Anyway, come and sit down." She walks, still carrying Nymphadora into a lamp lit sitting room, with a comfortable looking sofa in the corner and a muggle TV in another. A few of Nymphadora's toys lie scattered on the floor, and I try to not step on them as I sit on the sofa next the Andromeda.

"Ted, do you think you could take Dora into the other room for me?"

I know that's her way of asking for some privacy. Ted picks up Dora and carries her through a door.

"You have a very talented child."

"Yes, I know. Just a shame her family has to be so disapproving of her very existence." she sighs.

"You're not planning of moving to a different continent are you?"

"No, no... neither of us could do that. Plus you can't always run from your past."
