The beams of sunlight were blinding as you held your salute under the harsh rays. No matter how incredibly annoying it was to stand in the hot sun, you felt a sense of pride being beside your comrades. Finally, after years of training to become a member of the scout regiment, you earned the privilege of wearing the badge. Having only been a member for 6 months, you climbed the ladder of ranks at an exponential level. Your intense combat style, quick thinking, and intricate use of the ODM gear landed you the title of lieutenant of the squad. That's why it was no surprise that you were hand picked by Commander Erwin to accompany Levi's team on the newest mission.

"There have been numerous reports of 'large groups of titans' spotted near the upper east side of Wall Sina." Commander Erwin explained in front of your saluted figures. "Although Eren fixed the hole, we cannot ignore the possibility of another breach in Wall Rose. For that reason being, I need a small group of elite to investigate the area and report back any findings." Commander Erwin stopped talking for a moment and looked over to his second in command.

Levi's eyes scanned across the line of soldiers, their readied faces sickened him to the core. Once again, Erwin wasn't telling them the whole truth. There have been dozens of reports of a large beast-looking titan spotted outside of Wall Sina as well. Levi knows the beast titan can somehow control other titans. This was most likely just a lure to get soldiers outside of the wall.

"Levi's squad will be following up on these reports with the exception of Oluo who is still in the infirmary. I will need Lieutenant Y/N to take his place. Be ready in one hour. You are all dismissed."

The hour passed by quickly, next thing you knew it was time to go. While checking your emergency bag before loading it onto the horse, you noticed something was missing. There were four things you always brought with you during missions in case anything went wrong; an extra knife, matches, a first aid kit, and a flashlight. Your matches were gone. Although you could've sworn you put them in your bag. "Looking for something?" A voice suddenly asked behind you. The voice belonged to one of your closest friends.

"Eren, you almost scared the shit out of me!" You yelled playfully punching the man.

"I heard you were going on a mission and I wanted to come remind you to be careful." You brush off his comment and grab the box of matches in his hand. Closing the now ready bag, you load it onto your horse. "Don't worry Eren, I can handle myself."

"It's just that...I've been having some strange visions lately. I think there's something out there, something worse than anything we've seen before." Eren stopped speaking and stared off into the distance. A cold breeze brushed over you and it made you shiver. You instantly decided to zip up your thin jacket. There was a daunting feeling in the air. Deep inside you felt like there something was off, like the feeling right before a storm comes. But it was too late to back down now.

"We'll be fine, Eren. See ya in a few hours."

While mounting your horse, you look to Levi for direction. Making eye contact with him, you felt familiar butterflies in your stomach. Since the first day you met him, Levi had this effect on you. You fingers often wondered at night just thinking about him. But even though you could cum just by thinking of the man, it felt impossible to say two words to him. Every time you made up your mind to do so, your nerves got the best of you.
