Chapter 15

Emma's P.O.V
There was a knock at the door.
Cameron ran downstairs and opened it. I heard them talking but I couldn't quite make out what they were saying.
They came upstairs and sat on the bed with me.
"Hi Lindsey, Hi Halstead."
"Hey Emma. I need you to tell us a few things about what happened early today." Halstead said.
Matt, Jack G and Cameron left the room.
Is that your boyfriend? Lindsey asked.
I nodded.
He's cute. She said.
I started to tell them what had happened I gave them a description of Max and Alex and there address.
About an hour later they left.
Matt came back up to check on me.
"Cameron and Jack G went down to the police station. I said I would stay here to watch you."
Let's watch a movie! He screamed like a little kid.
Okay. I said.
Lady and the tramp. He said.
I don- he flashed the dvd and made a funny face in which I started to laugh.
He got up and put it in the movie in the did player. ( me= Emma, M= Matt
Me: Matthew?
M: Yes babe?
Me: I'm scared.
M: Of what.
Me: of Max and Alex coming back and hurting YOU.
M: aw... baby don't be scared.
Me: I feel safer with you.
I snuggled under the covers and nuzzled my head in his neck. He kissed my head.
M: will you go on a date with me.
Me: Yasss. I thought you would never ask. When.
M: after or during magcon.
Me: wait what?!! When's Magcon?
M: 3 weeks.
Me: that's a long time.
M: I know but I wanna wait till this whole thing blows over.
Matt this isn't gonna blow over this has been going on for a long time. It needs to be dealt with. I snapped.
And there was much ARGUING.
I got up and walked downstairs to get a bottle of water.
Emm I didn't mean it like that. Babe I'm sorry. He said.
I grabbed the water and walked back upstairs. I snuggled into bed and decided to take a nap. At this point we had finished the movie and basically argued through the whole thing. I woke up a few hours later. Matt wasn't beside me.
Matt?!! I screamed.
I heard pounding on the stairs and then my doorknob jiggle.
Emma what do you want. He asked.
I started to cry.
I'm sorry I shouldn't have snapped at you like that. Will you forgive me.
I'm sorry, I'm just so scared.
Well you don't need to be afraid anymore because they got Max and Alex and they are going to jail for rape. He said angrily.
Your still mad at me aren't you. I said drying my tears.
Yeah, just a little. He said.
Sorry. I said.
Emma why did you call me here?
I thought you had left me or something. I said.
Emma I wanted too so badly.
The why didn't you?
Because I love you. He said.
"Pause".
You can't say it back can you. You don't feel the same. He said screaming.

what!! Forget this ever happened. Forget we were ever together. I stood by you through all your ups and downs. I can't do it anymore. Look I know you have your issues and everything, but I can't keep being your punching bag.
I'm leaving. He said.
Matt please don't do this. I said.

He closed the door.
I love you too. I managed to squeeze out.
I started to cry. When I had heard the front door shut, I quickly ran downstairs and grabbed the scissors from the drawer and dragged it along my arm. I winced in the pain, but I felt so much better after. I cut out a line for every week we had been dating.
I cleaned the scissors and walked back upstairs. I flopped on my bed and stared at the wall.
