Wear them gold and diamonds rings
All them things don't mean a thing
Chaperons and limousines
Shopping for expensive things

Stark Mansion, MalibuThe next morning (afternoon), I wake up to a fowl acidic stench, with light flooding into my room. My hair is splayed out in a puddle of my own sick, which also covers the floor in different lakes all around the room.
Grim.
My head pounds and my throat is drier than the Sahara desert, "J.A.R.V.I.S, what time is it?", I ask.
"It is ten fifty-six am in Malib-", his voice booms out, sending an earthquake rippling through my skull.
"Fuck! Okay, I get it. Thanks.", I cut him off.
Climbing out of my disgusting bed, I look toward the bathroom door and decide now is definitely time for a shower. After stumbling over to the shower, unable to walk in a straight line, I turn it on and glance back at the anarchy of my room- somebody will take care of it. That's how things work in this house, Dad pays people to clean up our messes whilst remaining completely unseen. That's how most of our life works.
Stepping into the shower, I gasp at the scoldingly hot water but don't bother turning it down, just let the heat burn my skin and close my eyes as the water pours down my body. From there, the day is a blur, in odd spurts where time flies by and moments when every minute lasts an hour. Before I know it, Dad and I are out for dinner and I've already finished my main, now we just sit, talking.
I twist my ruby ring around my finger and block out dad's drivel about the newest missile he's created. Instead, opting to absent-mindedly stare out, over the tranquil ocean, as the moon glistens off the surface. My thoughts drifting from how delicious the steak I just ate was, to how I'm really going to miss Malibu when I'm off at college in a few months.
