Chapter Eighteen

"Are you ready to go to football?" Spencer asked as she slipped her purse over her shoulder.

"Yeah." Max was dressed in his practice uniform. Spencer drove him to practice and say in her car, scrolling through her phone. She saw a picture of her and Grover taken at the grocery store the night before.

"What the hell?" She thought as she read the attached caption.

"Has Spencer already moved on to an older man?" When she got home, she snapped a picture with her brothers and tweeted it with the caption "my brothers <3" and added Grover's twitter in it, further proving that they were siblings.

"Hey Niall." She smiled as she picked up her phone.

"Who was that in those pictures?" He said in his brooding Irish accent.

"That was my brother, Grover." Clearly he hadn't seen her last tweet.

"Oh, okay. Just checking. How was your day?"

"It was good. I'm just at Max's football practice. How was yours?"

"It was fine, I'm glad to be home. Are you going back to school tomorrow?"

"Ugh. Yeah. But only a couple of months until summer." She turned on her radio and their was an interview starting.

"Today I have the honor of interviewing ONE DIRECTION!" The interviewer announced.

"Well either I'm on the phone with you while you're in an interview, or this is pre-recorded." Spencer laughed.

"Oh shit! I gotta go do the interview, I'll talk to you tomorrow. Bye, Pence."

"Bye Niall." But she kept listening to the interview.

"Welcome! We're so glad to have you " The interviewer said in a cheerful voice.

"Thank you, we're glad to be here." Louis answered politely.

"Let's get to the point, Niall, we hear you have a new girlfriend."

"Uh, yeah. Yeah I do." Spencer turned red and smiled as she could hear the smile in Niall's voice.

"Her name is Spencer?"

"But he calls her 'Pence'." Louis pointed out.

"So you guys met in LA?"

"Yeah, on the beach."

"And he came back to the hotel that day and couldn't stop talking about her. It was SO annoying!" Harry joked.

"And you guys are still together?"

"Yes."

"But according to my resources, she lives in Oregon, in the states!"

"Go on." Niall didn't confirm where she lived or not.

"Is it hard, being apart?"

"Well, yeah. But I'll see her soon enough."

"Do you have any big plans for the two of you?" At this point, Zayn cut in.

"Oh yeah, Niall and I are gonna get married." He said like it was completely normal.

"Oh, I meant Niall and Spencer." The interviewer pointed out uncomfortably.

"Well I can't say anything because she's listening right now and I don't want to give away any secrets." Niall admitted.

"Can she join us? I mean, over the phone?"

"I'll check." Suddenly her phone was buzzing.

"Hey Pence, do you want to join out interview?"

"I'd love to but I need to drive my brother home from football. Some other time, promise. Bye, babe." She smiled.

"Bye hon." He told the interviewer that he wasn't available and they continued the interview.

"Looked like coach had you guys running lines." Spencer pointed out when Max climbed in the car.

"Yeah. 'Cause we lost."

"Oh, I'm sorry." She drove them home, still listening to the interview, but they had moved on to talking about their next tour. When they walked in the door, it was not what they were expecting.

"I found out yesterday. I didn't know how to tell you!" Stephanie was yelling.

"Steph, why didn't you tell me?"

"I didn't know how you'd react!"

"I'm just-I don't know." He stormed off to his study. Spencer dropped her purse and ran to Stephanie, pulling her into a hug.

"You told him?" Spencer asked quietly, already knowing the answer.

"Told him what?" Max and Grover asked at the same time. Spencer made eye contact with Stephanie, and she nodded for her to tell.

"Stephanie is pregnant." Spencer explained shortly, assisting Stephanie to the couch.

"Dad!" Grover yelled, following him to his study.
