Content/Trigger warning: Stalking
========================

(Y/N) froze. A sudden feeling of dread surfaced from the pit of her stomach and it began to churn unpleasantly as her eyes remained at the hooded figure that stood nearby. Could this person be following her? Though the alarms that warned her of the possibility rattled in her head, a part of her wanted to believe otherwise. Until the female's suspicions aren't confirmed yet, she refused to settle with a horrible conclusion of the sort.

Inwardly, she breathed out, successful of reassuring herself from the panicked thoughts that ran in her mind, but the breath was immediately sucked in when she felt unsteady on her feet, causing her to sway a bit as she straightened her posture to a stand. She quickly balanced herself out of sheer panic, and her eyes flicked at the person beside her. The male, much to her immense relief, remained at his spot. It was a wonder how he didn't glance over at the faint shuffling of her shoes.

With the shortened distance away from him, it was hard for her not to notice the physical characteristics that he displayed. He was taller than her by a few inches, roughly standing at a height where it was most likely that the lower fraction of his face would align with the top of her head. (Y/N) noted his build being average, like that of a typical young adult male's; though to a small degree, he appeared to be leaner in comparison. Despite the poor posture, his fairly broad shoulders were apparent through the jacket's fabric that covered him.

She shifted her eyes away and walked off to another aisle once she was finished with observing the limited features he had available for her to see. (Y/N) made sure that she was careful not to lose her balance this time. Gaining the male's attention would be the last thing she wanted to do.

By the time she was an aisle away from him, she felt at ease, as if a tremendous amount of weight was lifted off of her chest. Perhaps knowing that she was finally in a safe distance away from the stranger calmed her nerves down to an extent, and since it happened to be the case, (Y/N) was able to think rationally again.

She was greeted with the sight of his back as she peered from behind a row of canned goods. A sigh had nearly left her lips. Never would she have thought of formulating an effective plan to test out her suspicions toward a sketchy looking guy so early in the morning, but she knew that if she didn't, the guilt of accusing someone without the confirmation would haunt her for the next few days; probably for the rest of her life.

Unknowingly, her eyes had strayed away while she was contemplating on what to do, and she mentally cursed at herself. When she glanced back to where the stranger supposedly was however, he wasn't there anymore. His sudden absence from her range of sight had caused her heart to sink to her stomach, and the sickening feeling returned. How had she lost him in such a short amount of time? Having no time to waste, the female began to look around, frantically searching for the whereabouts of the hooded man.

She took a few steps behind to get a better scope of the area, but was stopped when she felt her back touch something hard during the process. Her search was brought to an end upon turning around as the backside of the much taller male met her widened hues. The color drained from her face when his head turned, stopping before (Y/N) could catch a glimpse of anything from within the shadows that obscured his face.

"I-I'm..." (Y/N) found herself speaking up, intending to apologize for bumping into him, except her voice had already wavered to a tremble before she could complete her sentence. Her chest tightened along with the grip she had on the basket handles. The unease that twisted at her gut had restricted her muscles from moving, and she hated every second of the moment. Was an apology even necessary at this point?
