(Y/N) eyed her tired reflection in the bathroom mirror as she patted her face dry. It was yet another Saturday morning. Thankfully, this Saturday is a bit warmer than the last.

It wasn't endearing to be woken up by the sound of her alarm on a weekend. With the upcoming finals for the semester fast approaching, coupled with the endless amount of tasks and requirements that were waiting to be finished, she was kept busy throughout the entire week, and she would love a day of rest. If only Tsukishima didn't insist that the day of their supposed arrangement is this day specifically, then she would still be sleeping to her heart's content.

The blond didn't give immediate answers when she had asked him a few nights ago about the exact day of their meeting, which lead her to assume that he was occupied with the preparation for finals as well. The text went unnoticed for a short while - that was, until last night when she checked her phone after dinner, and it wasn't a reply she was hoping for.

Tsukishima Kei
First thing tomorrow.

The female frowned, recalling the message in her head. She tried to persuade him to reschedule the arrangement on a Sunday, but no matter how valid her reasons seemed to be, Tsukishima remained persistent in the most irritating way possible: leaving her messages on read. It was made clear to her that he wasn't going to be moved that easily, so with no other choice, (Y/N) accepted, not wanting to add another stressor that would eventually be responsible for another painful migrane.

"(Y/N)? Are you in there, dear?"

From the other side of the door, the muffled voice of her mother called out to her, followed by the sound of a few soft knocks. When (Y/N) emerged from her thoughts, she realized that she had been staring at her reflection for quite some time now.

"Yes, mom. What is it?" She answered, allowing a yawn to slip out of her lips right after.

"There's a boy looking for you outside. Do you know someone by the name of...Tsukishima Kei?"

Her drowsy mind didn't quite fully comprehend what her mother had said to her at first, but after a moment of silence and processing, it finally clicked.

"What...?" Eyes widening, she froze in her spot. The sleep that once took over her body dispersed as a sudden burst of energy that seemingly came out of no where surged throughout her system, almost similar to that of the effects of a caffeine rush.

"Yes, I think that's what I overheard. Your dad attended to him while I was busy in the kitchen and they talked for a bit. I couldn't quite hear the rest of their conversation though." The woman muttered to herself at the end, but made it audible for her daughter to hear. "Is he a new friend of yours? If it weren't for the lunch I'm keeping an eye on, I would've gotten a closer look at him myself. He sounds awfully nice..."

Hearing her mother's words were just enough to wake her up completely and get her scrambling on her feet to get dressed. Struggling to put on her beige colored trousers, she chuckled nervously. "I'll be out in a second!"

"Alright, dear." (Y/N) heard her reply, and knowing her mother very well, she was absolutely certain that the woman was smiling broadly from behind the door at the very moment. It was expected that the female would earn a tease from her mother whenever a guy gets brought up. Even back then when she was little, the memory of her face flushing at her mother's giggles being directed to her when she had accidentally revealed the name of a boy she had a crush on was still vivid to this day. Surprisingly though, this time the woman took a subtle approach.

"You best hurry up though," she continued, "I can hear your father giving the poor boy a hard time already. Keep him from doing something irrational for me, will you?"
